Lionel Messi - v7

Maybe one more year left of the GOAT.

Sique Rodriguez is one of the best in the business and has close ties to the Messi family. Messi is reportedly tired of the situation in Barcelona and have stopped his renewal and is now planning to leave when his contract ends next year, according to him at least.

Apparently it's Manu Carreno's sources. Will be an interesting story to follow though and see if others will confirm it.

Wouldn't be that bad. I mean he will be 34 at the end of next season. This is probably the age where Xavi became Rakitic's substitute under Lucho if I remember correctly.

Could be a strategic leak to the media for Leo to get more leverage in negotiations. Barto will write a blank cheque to make sure his legacy isn't being the President that lost the best player in the club's history.

Wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if it's true either. New board would get to start fresh and build a new project from scratch.

He's apparently tired of being blamed for the club's poor decisions, he's apparently thinking that the leaks blaming him for the club's poor decisions is coming from the club itself

That would be a dick move ... not allowing Barca to sell him and get some money

Could always be something like that.

Imagine if it end up happening though. Bartomeu's legacy

I always feel if thus is true Messi dont have to be sneaky about it.
He can come out straight like "either the biard goes or I go! And they are out of here. Who would side with the board over the goat?
Its justp rumours for clickbait articles and divide and conquer madridista tactics.

But even if it were all true, would you really blame the guy? He gave his heart and soul to barca and they ruined it post msn.
Go play wherever you want (except Madrid) and I wlould still applaud the man while support barca trough the upcoming dark ages.

QSG and City, simply for the marketing if nothing else.

City would not be taking a 34 year old Messi on 80m a season.

Those top teams wanting to win things will not pay big money and put aside the values of hard, work pressing and pace and balance to their teams.

I actually think PSG would be a great location for Messi. They could walk the league and he’ll be reunited with his his second best pal. If he wins them their first CL he will definitely cement his legacy too.

No way city would be good for him. At this stage of his career I’m sure he doesn’t want to get slide tackled every match

And it's not the worst thing in the world, to be honest.

RM moved on from CR7 and he's a player of similar stature in the game as Messi. Plus, it wouldn't be the club is forcing a move, more so that Messi didn't want to renew for whatever reasons. Probably the most amicable split and it allows us to start the rebuild earlier.
