Lionel Messi - v7

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
They wouldnt and certainly not on anything near 80m a season.

Cant see it at all.

Go against Pep and he would leave.

Pep at City is infintely more important than a 34 yr old Messi.

I think for uber rich people like Mansour a player like that would be impossible not to acquire if he can. Becomes an ego thing for such people.

For what it's worth if this forces earlier elections I'm all for it. Elections this Autumn/Winter with the new board being allowed to plan for the 2021/22 season would be nice.

I'm pretty sure the clause that lets him leave for free is, if it's to a club in a non top 5 league in Europe. Xavi and iniesta had the same clause. It's why they moved to Qatar and Japan

I can see him liking Portugal. Amazing climate, rad surf, cool folks, 10 years of zero income tax under Golden Visa yeah baby!

If Monaco, he'd definitely need a yacht to enjoy the wide expanses. Otherwise, can see him follow on Don's footsteps and head to Japan. They adore him over there.

If it came to Pep v Messi. Pep would win out at City in my opinion.

Cant see any way they want him when will be trying to build a younger team to compete with Liverpool again.

I think any of the rich teams (PSG, City, United) would jump at the chance honestly. it wouldn't be the smartest in terms of on pitch investments this late in his career but to say the GOAT played for your club, its a once in a lifetime opportunity + the marketing.. PL would also have a field day

I actually think PSG would be a great location for Messi. They could walk the league and he?ll be reunited with his his second best pal. If he wins them their first CL he will definitely cement his legacy too.

No way city would be good for him. At this stage of his career I?m sure he doesn?t want to get slide tackled every match

yeah I think PSG would be a great move because it would let him just focus on CL and Argentina which is all that matters for his legacy now having won 10 league titles. If he stays, Im worried he would get burned out trying to carry us every week in the league while also having CL and a packed international calendar to deal with.

He might work out a Beckham sorta deal with PSG whereby he'd spends less than 6 months a year and get to spend the rest of his time in Switzerland or Hello Kitties & Nevis.

Ney,Icardi,Mbapp,Neo,Verratti on the pitch at the same time :amazed: Gotta be a rule against that haha

Why this obsession with City?
Ending his era watching CL on the telly dont sound like him.
PSG sounds more legit.

Italy or France would be Messi's best bet. The pace is slower and less intense than the epl.
Inter or Psg. Pep wouldn't want a lazy Messi walking around. Inter or Psg would give him a free role where he could do what he wants.

Highly doubt Manchester City will want to pay the kind of wages for a 34-year-old Messi. But if he wants to leave next summer, we should let him go. I hope we will accomplish something next season as a proper send-off for Messi.

I don't think it is true, but if Messi thinks he is somehow being targeted or blamed somehow he is full of himself. Everybody, perhaps with the exception of Abidal tried to put Messi on a pedestal and did their best to protect him. Faus even got fired for saying something true because of Messi . If he wants to leave, he should leave.
