Who? There are no leaders in this team.
I think DeJong could be captain material, but too young for now.
Who? There are no leaders in this team.
Even though i support RM, i did feel kinda bad for him last season.
Now, obviously i didnt want Barca to win CL, but Messi really played out of his mind that campaign, he really wasnt joking at the begining of that season with the announcement.
His teammates definitely let him down last season, he shouldnt feel any guilt about what happened.
Imagine if we had some1 like Jordan in psychopath modeWho? There are no leaders in this team.

But does he really interfere? Maybe a bit with Suarez (but he didn?t cause problems when we sold Cesc) but he isn?t the one that?s keeping Rakitic, and all the rest that should?ve been sold some time ago.Nobody wants to lose Messi if we can find a way to make him listen and stop interfering in a negative way. But if not, between Messi being a leader at 35 and doing whatever he wants, and us cutting him and rebuilding, I'm all for rebuilding.
He is not a victim, he is at least as much a victim as he is blameworthy:
He is part of the player power that has ravaged the effectiveness of the team on the pitch.
He has exercised his power dictating where and how much he plays
He has exercised his power dictating who must be on the pitch alongside him (ex Suarez)
He has exercised his power ordering what players should be transferred in and out
He has failed to respect coaches' instructions and orders
yes, his 18/19 UCL campaign was one of the best individual performances ever seen: he almost got the team to the final just by himself.
Guess what? That was not enough. Football has changed. Even the best player ever cannot by himself win the most competitive titles.
Read Louis van Gaal and what he said about Messi last summer.
Disrespect for the collective nature of the sport has consequences...
Disrespect for the importance of coach and hard work has consequences...
No, he is not a victim! He made the bed where he is currently lying in!
Lol where do you actually get this shit from? Messi controls who comes in and goes out? Who must be on the pitch alongside him?
The prob is 90% of people believe this BS from the media like you. Unless you are in the boardroom meetings you have no idea any of this happens.
You honestly think, and be serious here....he wants to play alongside rakitic? The guy which has been shown on camera getting angry at rakitic for passing the ball back so much.
The only reason he likes Suarez is that he has developed a level of chemistry with him. Suarez understands Messi's movements and vice versa....just look at the celta vigo game. This is why the coach plays saurez over others in CF role. And one of the reason's why LATURO is being brought in. Because Laturo understands Messi's movements as can be seen from Argentina's games.
But it's gotten to the stage where this Saurez chemistry is not good enough, especially when we dont have a reliable LF/LW.
IF the board knew anything about this fking team they would never have bought griezmann or countinho, but bolsterd the midfield instead.
Just watch the Atletico game again, whenever, Roberto, Puig, or Messi has the ball the forward/ midfield is soooo static that you can predict where the passes are going to go well before its made.
Thats why this barca is having such a hard time breaking down opponents, and scoring goals from open play.
Lack of movement, one-touch passes, DRIVING FORWARD, and through balls while having the right players on the field that can achieve these.
Who does that fall on? > Setien.
At this point, if you don't think Messi influences/controls at least some aspects in the sporting decisions (squad selection, coaches, transfers, or anything else similar) then you are a fool.
But does he really interfere? Maybe a bit with Suarez (but he didn?t cause problems when we sold Cesc) but he isn?t the one that?s keeping Rakitic, and all the rest that should?ve been sold some time ago.
Neither is he the one that wanted our biggest flops Griezmann and Coutinho. (I don?t want him back but Messi might want Neymar back and say what you will, on the field we would be in a better place if we had Neymar instead of those 2)
And the biggest problem is that we don?t have any plan or hope with this board to rebuild the team. I?d rather squeeze out the last 2-3 years of Messi with us and then do a complete overhaul with a new sporting department and a new board.
In my opinion he does interfere. Check out that ESPN article. A reputable source has no reason to invent things like that. What it says in that article is probably true imo. Unfortunately, we have reached the Galactico Madrid stage, where older legends, who are too powerful, too popular and too strong inside the club, influence things which they shouldn't for their own benefit at the expense of the team.
I think people believe that he has more power than he really has. If you believe those reports then you should believe the one that came out the other day, that he's fed up with being blamed for everything and wants to leave.
As bad as Suarez is, at the moment he's still our best CF. Griezmann flopped when he played there and braithwaite is still bit of an unknown. Setien probably doesn't want to play him with the league on the line. That Suarez is our best CF, is on the board, not Messi.
Yes, he's pushing for neymar, but he's miles better than anyone we have at LW. He's pushing for lautaro as he knows he is a better CF than Suarez. Let's not kid ourselves, he wants a team that can win, not to play with his friends. You can see how much it hurts him when Barca lose. He has said numerous times this current team isn't good enough to win
