Lionel Messi - v7

You know the saddest part about all this? IF Messi leaves and slow as shit for brains busquets, Rakitic and Suarez stay behind. Add Alba and possibly pique to that list too. Everyone thinks Messi is above the club but no one ever questions why Suarez, busquets and rakitic havent been long booted already. Literally cringe everytime these nimptys get the ball.

Raki's contract is expiring in 2021 so he'll be gone next year if we won't be able to offload him now. Suarez has an option to extend his contract for another year if he plays more than 60% minutes next season but if Messi will leave I don't see him staying. Pique might consider retirement next year if Messi leaves but at the latest I think he'll retire in 2022 when his contract expires. Busi and especially Alba will probably stick around until their contract are up in 2023 and 2024 respectively. That's why I've said many times renewing their contracts was our biggest mistakes in recent years. Even if he's bad now we can't really blame the club for renewing Suarez's contract in 2016 when he was still a part of arguably the best attacking trio in football history but giving out new 5-year contracts to Busi and Alba when they were already (almost) 30 and showing signs of decline was just a bad move.

Anyway, Messi won't leave. He's just negotiating and he'll probably demand we renew Suarez's contract till 2023 before he'll sign his own extension. In that case I hope we won't give up to his demands. Better let him go than stay in status quo for three more years.

Because of this "pressure" for immediate impact club splashed on Countihno, Griezmann and now getting Pjanic. Time has expired. We need to build a new team and Messi would complete his legacy by staying and leading the youngsters.

He'll never want to be a part of a rebuilding team. If he'd want that we'd already be rebuilding for years instead of keeping his amigos around. Let's face it, he's still great but he has lost his hunger for football and gives more importance to his familly and friends. He wants to be in a comfortable environment surrounded by people close to him more than he wants to win new trophies. If he'd really have anywhere close to his competitive fire from younger years he would realise that playing alognside current versions of Suarez, Busi etc. won't help him and the club. So either he's blindsided by his friendship with them or just doesn't care all that much about winning anymore. Pick your option. Either one it's not ideal from the club's perspective with the overall power/impact he has inside the club.

It is clear that they don't listen Setien.

I was Setien Messi,Suarez, Raki would be on the bench

No doubt. Lack of professionalism, lack of discipline, these things are always rock solid reasons for benching.

Some people think that if a player doesn't like a manager he has reasons not to do his job. The job he gets paid a fortune for.

Make no mistake, attending tactical discussions with the managers is an obligation for any professional player.

But thats what im trying to get across. Instead of buying wingers and attacking midfielders why havent we replaced these guys yet? Starting with Busi and Raki? Raki should've really be long gone since 2016.
If we had addressed these problems we might not be where we are right now. Or at least as a coach have some damn fucking balls to run your squad and bench these players.

Lauturo coming to Barca solves nothing as long as these players are still in the starting 11.

Griezmann should never have been bought. Coutinho was a hit an miss. Dembele was good yet forever injured.

Add these signings to the problems above and this is the shitfest we have at the moment.

The way around it forseeable future, the coach needs to have some fuking balls. Soon as FDJ is fit bench raki/Busi. Even Roberto was making more forward plays than Raki man.
Honestly braithwaite would be 100% better option than Suarez right now. Dude can actually touch an pass which is something suarez is lacking in badly atm.

Spot on mate. That's why it makes no difference who we bring. Neymar wouldn't change this nor prime Ronaldo.

True.

Optimistic thing is to get rid off all amigos except Messi. But no one wants them.

No one from amigos will leave this year.even next.

He might work out a Beckham sorta deal with PSG whereby he'd spends less than 6 months a year and get to spend the rest of his time in Switzerland or Hello Kitties & Nevis.

Ney,Icardi,Mbapp,Neo,Verratti on the pitch at the same time :amazed: Gotta be a rule against that haha

PSG can't pay the sign on fee and the huge salary of Messi if they keep Neymar and Mbapp?. Messi won't ever go to PSG.

As usual Messi will renew with Bar?a after making sure he has the upper hand in the negociation. Other than Bar?a, there is only City that can pay him and is connected with him through the ex-Bar?a members.

I don't think he'll move to another club, most likely he retires. sure he could still have a few more years at the top but since he started his family, hes been less and less interested in football imo and he always said when he wasn't enjoying himself anymore he'd quit.

he'll probably come back for a final world cup

would be a very very sad day when he does leave/retire despite the current club de amigos situation, not only Barca but football as a whole will never be the same again

It's really sad, even I've literally lost so much interest in this team. Never felt this way in a long time. After that Pjanic deal, I'm so done with it. I believe Messi is extremely frustrated to his breaking point and losing interest. Unfortunately, as most have predicted that Barca would go down one day, and Messi's legacy has already been ruined. He's been wanting a Champions league in his last years just as much as a world cup; I just cannot believe having a player like Messi we still struggle every year. Absolute shambles.

But what if a condition of Messi signing a new deal is Suarez and co get one too?

We need to develop a new young team but I don't think Messi would have the will or patience to guide them and help develop that team. We're getting into Ronaldinho 2008 territory here with Messi and Suarez as Ronaldinho and Deco. We can't win anymore playing slow, lazy football.

My only hope left for Messi in a Barca shirt is to break Pele's Santos record (he won't win anything else, no more ballon d'ors) but I can't see where he's getting another 20 goals from at the moment.
