It will pan out with board gone and Messi/amigos here for another season.

Messi calls for elections now and there will not be massive clear out and players will refuse to leave before new board in and another season of same shit.

Even if new board comes in and says amigos have to go, how the fuck do you offload all those past it players on those massive wages... who wants them?

Messi is no longer in his prime, thats clear. But he still has a lot to offer I believe.

Ship out Busquets, Suarez, Alba, etc and rebuild.

It would be terribly sad for Messi to leave now with that as his last game.

I just don’t see how he could realistically not think it’s them to blame for the result though. He blamed themselves for Roma and Liverpool so no way he thinks they’re not part of the problem when they lost 8-2 imo, there’s no defending that team now. Hopefully this is a threat to the board so they resign and he’s willing to be part of new project.

Yeah, I do agree. So far we don't know what Messi thinks, he hasn't said anything.

But realistically everyone so far has said things along the same lines. Big changes, elections, squad wipe. Pique, FDJ, even Bartomeu. I think Messi knows as well as anyone else that the Amigos have to go.

It all starts with the coach though. Whoever wins the election, let's assume Laporta, should take huge note of what Bayern achieved with Flick.

The coach matters more than anything when we get to 2021. Laporta can bring Pep back when his contract is up that year, and even Xavi as assistant coach. Guardiola would only return if he could wipe the squad and so the Amigos would be truly over by then. This 20/21 season is just going to be a transition year under a caretaker coach.

You can’t. We will have to offload some now and some next season. Busi, Suarez and Rakitic should all leave right now.

We need to offload atleast 2 amigos before the next season starts. If none leaves it will be extremely difficult to replace all of them at once.

Raki goes to Sevilla for free. I think Vidal is still seen as an okay player. We can sell him for a small fee. Busi with his contract? Impossible. Alba is still good player, we could probably sell him for a small fee. Suarez has marketing value and he can still come up with a occasional world class moment. Offload for free.

I think its bad situation but if United can move past his.prime Sanchez I am sure we can move these guys.

No European club will buy Suarez and Rakitić due to their high wages. Both of them would not willingly go to MLS or China either

Vidal is not good enough and long past his best. Needs to go as well and one of few that would not be all that difficult to move.

They'll have to give Suarez and Rakitic away for free or for like max 10m if they even get a such offer.

That is what doesn't add up in my opinion... The players took the blame in the past but they made the same mistakes again and again, so what is the point of making demands now? As much as Barto and co. are the main cause of this chaos, they were not the ones on the pitch on the receiving end of yet another humiliation...

If players are to take their fair share of the blame they should be upfront about it... This kind of power moves make them look like they don't think they have anything to do with the state the club is in...

Messi could speak up, acknowledge amigos need to be removed from the club along with the board, and then offer himself to be part of the plan a new president could have for the club...
