Lionel Messi - v7

That we would have won at least 1 more CL if he ran 10 km in the big games. Not all games but the CL KOs

Against Bayern in 2015, he ran 8.5 to 9 and destroyed them. Imagine that.
What kind of logic is this. Running equivalent to goals now ? Just to remind you in 2015 he's with beast Suarez and Prime Neymar. He can run 20kms against Bayern now and still will lose with a shit teammates

It's not the 80"s anymore.. It's bayern and Liverpool forwards that do the most difficult defensive tasks which is pressing. CB 's defensive work is secondary in modern football.

And you seriously believe that Messi needs to triple his work load for you fans at his age now. Messi won everything motivation is not the same as before, it's better to sell him if you guys don't like him doing this for years already. A walking Messi is still more effective than a running Cristiano

No top European club or national team has a special player walking around in a tight game. Let along a special player and his pet.

Even if Barca manages to drastically improve right away, I suspect the most number of players they can afford walking around in a tight game later on is 1.

He has insisted/forced his pet on Barca and the fans for the last few years and as recently as the Napoli game by gifting a hard-earned penalty.

He was walking his pet in the park trailing 1-4 against Bayern.

Now he has the audacity to blame others.

which top European team has their best player AND his pet walking around in a tight UCL game? Not Bayern, Not Man City. Any player who walks around like Messi and his pet would be on the bench or off the squad.

still, huge loss to let him go for free and can not sell him.

Nobody says that more running = more goals but its increase massive the chance to win and this is fact.

He is not going to leave this season. Earliest he goes is next summer on a free. This is him simply trying to exert some power over the board.

Pre-season starts in a few weeks. All the amigos will still be here, no major signings, but there will be a new coach and maybe the election date gets pushed up. This is the reality of the situation and all the rubbish coming out from the press over the next few days will never transpire.

Unfortunately, this is the most likely outcome...
Never thought I would want all the Amigos to get the hell out of my club....They have all ruined their legacies, and Messi is busy ruining his, to save them

Seriously people here criticized Messi for not running more or defending ? The same GOAT who's been doing the midfield and forward needs to do the defense role too, what's next asking him to help Ter Stegen in GK because he choked in big games 😅 Barca fans think they own Messi

I don't get it. Literally every top team in Europe collectively presses during defensive transitions, were the only ones with at least two players walking around the pitch at almost all times. We have no wingers, no pace upfront when every other team utilises pace on the wings for width and chance creation.

Juventus, Roma, PSG, Liverpool, and Bayern all exploited our right side to successful results during all of our humiliating defeats. Why? Because we don't have a winger on our right side, because there's a player there who refused to be a part of various transitions of the game.

We have 4 years of evidence telling us that these tactical sacrifices aren't good enough to win us the champions league. Like how many more scenes of various left backs bombing down our ight side do you need to realise that that's just not option in high level UCL matches?

You'd think after the 8-2 people would FINALLY say alright enough is enough but apparently not, at this point you guys are bordering on the insane with your Messi worshipping.

Messi is not an issue, he just has to be willing to adapt his game to reduce our tactical deficiencies. The board has to realise width is important and should look for quality players on the wing. And so on.

Now finally I got why we lost, thanks.
We don't play with a winger who track back and defends.
Without Messi but with a real winger = 8-2 for Barca.

Theres some things i agree that should be worked on, however taking things into consideration the recent defeats did take a toll on his morale. He was the only reliable player in attack and tried to give his all last season. The 8-2 is more of a culmination of Barto's reign and not sacking Valverde for so long, still went with another mid table la liga coach and even not signing the right players. i still think captaincy should be taken off Messi so he wouldnt have that great of a pressure being the greatest player, captain, the attacking load of dribbling, passing and scoring all at the same time. I think the biggest crime to date is not even signing a winger to help in attack, no top teams is playing without a proper winger, the Griezmann signing and the Dembele injury is just the perfect ingredient for CL disaster.

The score is ridiculous, yes, but it is too apparent our team depends on one player. Messi on his good day can be everything every coach wants.

No top team would need Messi.

1 brilliant action every 3 games is not worth it to pay lazy walk Messi.

Imagine static Messi in this bayern team, he would be a hinder not an improvement for them

You are underselling him here, significantly.
But yes, teams do have to sacrifice something for him being so static.

Imagine Messi having proper wingers with pace, great full backs and not an ageing midfield of washed up players like Vidal, Rakitic, Busquets.
