Lionel Messi - v7

He should leave.

There really isn't much of a debate here:

a) Barca starts a 2-3 year rebuild around a 33 year old Messi. ---> Short term

or

b) Barca starts a 2-3 year rebuild with a focus on a new set of key players like De Jong ---> Long term

It's unfortunate that Barca hit rock bottom when Messi was 33, but it is the situation we are in now and we need to focus elsewhere. H'es on astronomical wages and it doesn't make sense for this to continue financially or sporting wise.

What is this "set of key players" you're talking about?

Even Frenkie blew hot and cold and was not up to standard all season.

It's kind of hard to perform consistently as a new guy in a team that's at it worst in more than a decade.

His legacy has been tainted BIG TIME. His loyalty to the amigos clan has cost him.
It's a strange irony that he wants to win the CL but he wants to have his buddy Suarez playing. We all know how shit Suarez has been in Cl.

No one will remember individual matches

Would be really good too for his legacy if he can manage to win an EPL or Serie A with City or Inter. Inter would be a great fit, would be a force in the CL and renew the domestic Messi vs CR7 rivalry. Also Serie A is a lot less physical than La Liga nowadays.

He should go to PSG or Inter. Slower league. If Quagriela can top score at 36 Messi could easily.

That photo of Messi and Ter Stegen pretty much summarises the state of the squad and the club.
Messi and Olaf should have been screaming at the team trying to motivate them.

I disagree. This is not a Hollywood movie.
Screaming to motivate after being 4-1 on the half?
Literally only works in movies.

He must leave for his own good (and that of the team) if he wants to try to win again. Here the rebuilding of the team will take a few years and he is already 33 years old.
For me you have been and you still are a fantastic player, you and Maradona are the GOAT for me, you've given us fantastic, incredible, unrepeatable moments and it will be strange to see the team without you. I am grateful to you for all these great years, I'm definitely not going to shit on you like some posts in this forum.

Can do both at once.

I don't think he's going back to argentina.
He once said if it's only about him, he'd do it. But it's different now. He thinks about his sons.

He could be considering an early retirement.
If he wants it, i support him. Doesn't change the fact that he's the barca legend and the goat. He's also avoiding the issue of loyalty, cause he only stick with one club barcelona.
