I'm eager for a fresh start without him or any of the amigos around. When every single player of our team can run 11-12 km, we will not be that bad. I personally see this is as the most likely probability. I hope and pray Koeman is not a doormat like Valverde and Setien and told him, "sorry messi, but it's going to be a new squad next season."

Exactly, right now the influences are unfolding. Who wins will decide how the team will look next season. We could be looking at the same soup reheated for the third time with a new fancy name.

Genuinely curious though , what changes in the eyes of Messi are positive ? You reckon if Koeman told him Suarez and the likes won't be part of his plan , he would see it as a step in the right direction ?

I mean the man thought Paulinho was so good he convinced him to come to Barcelona and that Valverde was a great coach.

Messi isn't stupid. He knows a lot of players are past it, even those that are considered his friends. And besides, it's not like Alba and the guys are his family. Closest to him is Suarez and Suarez himself probably knows he isn't good enough anymore.

But with Barca not being able to buy a proper striker this summer it'd be stupid to ship Suarez. So Leo is safe there amigo-wise.

The rest though, why would Messi be mad if they were told to leave? He'd never say "but they are still good". There isn't a single guy who can oppose benching/selling the old guard, not with last years performances.
