Lionel Messi - v7

As I said, it's just speculation what Messi wants or doesn't want.

What I think is him really pushing for the board to make changes. Messi being unhappy shows the board that it's serious.
I don't think it'll be very hard to convince Messi to stay. All he probably wants is a clear understanding of how things are going to change in terms of the first team.

Koeman needs to hold tight. This is the moment where he decides if he is Alpha, or if he is Valverde/Setien. Messi is welcome to continue under Koeman's terms, in a new team with new ideas and new ways of doing things. If he doesn't accept those terms, he needs to go.

If only. My guess is he wants to keep his friends around, because otherwise he'd be the odd man out in a new collective with players around that he has no connections of friendship with. Logically, it's clear there will be changes. The only problem why he hesitates is that the changes doesn't suit him or his friends.

You're welcome
how reliable is Rac?

Somebody already pointed out how could they know the content of the meeting? And these kinds of statements are worthless. Whether he stays or not, it won?t contradict their ?news?. Maybe theyre just out to create buzz.

Honestly I can only see Messi going to Serie A. MAYBE PL but only if it's Man City. It would be hilarious if he went to PSG due to the fact Neymar went there to get away from him.

I'm eager for a fresh start without him or any of the amigos around. When every single player of our team can run 11-12 km, we will not be that bad. We probably won't win CLs without his brilliance or the brilliance or other greats of our past (Xavi, Iniesta etc.) but at this point I just want respectable showings and a stop to successive humilitations, which even Messi can't do anything about because he's 33, going on 34.

Or that he realizes the club's vision for rebuilding is shit?

I'm amazed at how much trust some of you put in Josep Maria Bartomeu and his words.

Fake news. Where would he even go??

I could see him leaving after his contract is up but highly doubt he leaves this season... along with the rest of the amigos.

They will all be here next season. Rinse and repeat of this season.

I personally see this is as the most likely probability. I hope and pray Koeman is not a doormat like Valverde and Setien and told him, "sorry messi, but it's going to be a new squad next season."

Exactly, right now the influences are unfolding. Who wins will decide how the team will look next season. We could be looking at the same soup reheated for the third time with a new fancy name.

Genuinely curious though , what changes in the eyes of Messi are positive ? You reckon if Koeman told him Suarez and the likes won't be part of his plan , he would see it as a step in the right direction ?

I mean the man thought Paulinho was so good he convinced him to come to Barcelona and that Valverde was a great coach.

Messi isn't stupid. He knows a lot of players are past it, even those that are considered his friends. And besides, it's not like Alba and the guys are his family. Closest to him is Suarez and Suarez himself probably knows he isn't good enough anymore.

But with Barca not being able to buy a proper striker this summer it'd be stupid to ship Suarez. So Leo is safe there amigo-wise.

The rest though, why would Messi be mad if they were told to leave? He'd never say "but they are still good". There isn't a single guy who can oppose benching/selling the old guard, not with last years performances.

I can see PSG making a move for him if Bayern go all in on them on Sunday.

Bayern wouldn't sign him in a million years.

There's Juve but CR7 is there. Inter is a shitshow so he should avoid that.

Doubt he wants EPL at 33/34.

He really has MD and SPORT by the balls. If he could run for election again he would most likely win.

And a lot of the guys on this forum too it seems. People are blaming Messi more than Bartomeu for this mess

Trusting Bartomeu can clear and rebuild the squad. I'll believe it when I see it.
