Lionel Messi - v7

The problem I see with all this is that it's clear that current Barca is not a force in Europe, this was plainly obvious back in 2017. Surely Messi as a top professional footballer can realise that the current crop is not good enough to win as they've shown.

However, a few days after we hear that players are being told to go, he's also leaving. Surely he must realise that keeping the current crop gives him less chance of a successful team than a rebuild, as shown in the last few years. Since 2016 we are 22-2 in knockout games away from the Camp Nou, if that doesn't show the current XI aren't up to it, nothing does.

It's been plainly obvious for a long time that Bartomeu isn't fit to be president, but he's waited until the last few months to decide to go. It's like running a marathon and giving up at the 25th mile.

BBC: Bartomeu has offered to resign in exchange for Leo Messi to not terminate his contract and stay at Barcelona.

Club has succeeded to sell this myth for 2 years now.
Deflect the blame to the players, deflect again and again.

Club/board is the main culprit.

But amigos also deserve their share of the blame.

Simple as.

Everybody is already in agreement about the boards's failures, but too many seem to think the players have no part in this and are simply innocent victims. In reality they have only enabled and prolonged the already existing failures and systemic problems.

Now Barto will be punted 6 months earlier, people will celebrate, but nothing will have fundamentally changed.

Sure, he let the ego of the Amigos grow to uncontrollable levels. I think it started in Lucho's last season.

Since Pep, we've hired puppet managers that bend over for the amigos at every whim. Lucho's first season is the exception, Messi and Alba seemed to have issues with him also..
