Lionel Messi - v7

It was totally fine if there was a decline, this is full throttle crisis and an absolute circus. 26 August 2020 could very well be the fall of Barcelona.

Other clubs have been here before, though. We were here before as well only 20 years ago before R10 and Rijkaard saved us.

Bartomeu is secondary here.

This is between Koeman and Messi basically. It's simply us appointing a manager who is determined to change this team and accept no compromise. And the Amigos refusing to cope with this.

This is all in your own mind. The fact that it may be true or not ( highly unlikely that it is as you say) is irrelevant. You just want to blame all the failings of the club on a scapegoat. Miraculously something of which Argentina supporters were being accused of when Argentina were failing. One man can do so much but he cannot do anything.

Messi is doing the right thing by his own career. When people like Puyol who is Barca through and through don't show any resentment but understand this it shows them to be more human than some of the garbage that has been spouted by those on the forum in the last week or so. I suspect them to be highly petulant children.

BBC: Bartomeu has offered to resign in exchange for Leo Messi to not terminate his contract and stay at Barcelona.

No way Messi will accept that because

1) It will look like Messi did this to force their resignation

2) Barto has probably done this intentionally to come across as someone on the mercy of Messi in front of everyone.

What does this fix exactly?? He would've been gone with next year's election anyway. If anything this causes a lot more disruption to the club. New president could fire Koeman and just hire another yes man for Messi. Heck maybe bring back EV

Barto kept around all these older players not because of Messi, but because he wanted to capitalize on their marketing potential.

The club has had a galacticos policy and only focused on the economic side. Younger, less established players are not as marketable and don't bring in as many sponsors from their native countries.

If the board resigns and the amigos stay, then this will be DOUBLE the disaster.

The board is leaving in 6 months anyway...the amigos need to go, though.

I'm sure Puyol is a close friend of Suarez, Vidal, Rakitic etc. That's why he is on Messi's side here..
After years of failures, putting the blame only on the players and even hiring a company to damage the their images, this board is still having the support of the fans, that's their biggest achievement.
The 8-2 loss and the disrespectful way to kick Suarez was just the cherry on top for Messi.
