For what it's worth Suarez said a couple of years ago Messi was seriously considering leaving Barca in 2016 and that he convinced him to stay as he wouldn't like it anywhere else.

bartomeu lied to him last season. he told him that they were pushing for neymar. when messi asked him if they've signed griezmann already, bartomeu said no. it then transpired in the press the griezmann had a pre-agreement from a couple of months back. - this is true

there was another story about neymar telling messi that bartomeu &co never really pushed that hard to sign him - probably this is bullshit
