Lionel Messi - v7

This is true if only European journalists will vote for Balon d'or but that's not the case. For UEFA only European journalists votes count. For the Balon d'or it's worldwide, Messi is pretty much a favorite among global journalists.

Winning the FIFA award will influence some of the European journalists too.

I saw the file now with all votes, it's worldwide as well and the final ranking with only journalists votes is this:

1. Van Dijk 462 points
2. Messi 364 points
3. Cristiano 264 points

Sorry but there is no chance, these fuckers can't give a fuck of performance, they just care of trophies.

Bro the journalists are only from the UEFA nations for the final vote.

Post the file link if otherwise.

"The amount of journalists selected by the European Sports Media association was also increased to 55, representing each of UEFA's member associations."

Yep, its quite insane. I cant name a single player bar Messi who stepped up last year (or the last few).

For Liverpool? Mane, Van Dijk, Salah, heck even Origi.
For Real Madrid? Ronaldo, Modric, Ramos, Marcelo, Bale.

ter stegen played a great season too

Van Dijk after becoming 2nd last night: “Messi had an incredible season. He’s a fantastic player, probably the best player in the world or the best player of all time in football. After the TOTY got announced I already got told he would win. I‘m super happy for him.”

As stated before I personally believe last season was the best individual season by a over 30 years of age footballer in the history of football. Akin to what Maradona did for Napoli.

Messi had no one last year. No help at all. His goals in the CL were often wonder goals - all his own work.

He got the biggest cheers last night, when his name was called it was as if the whole room was relieved - as if to say 'At last, this wizard is getting the recognition he deserves.'

100% truth. Donkey Suárez, anorexic Lukaku and beta Coutinho up front with him and still 51 goals and 19 assists in 50 games. Absolutely incredible.

If we'd won the CL, that would have been Messi's number 1 season in his career in my opinion.

Our next highest CL scorer had like 2-3 goals, and Messi had 12.

He was more even dominant in 2011 and 2015 but he had all stars around him.
