Lionel Messi - v7

He still seems kind of rusty. No pressing whatsoever tonight. I hope this gets better when he is 100%. And still he saved the win.
But.. What an absolute cheat code we had for the last 12 years..

Since last season I've noticed it takes Leo a bit to get going when he comes back from an injury. His first half went very much like that. Thankfully he improved later on. Great assist in the end.

Let's hope Leo scores vs. Sevilla

He needs to be in the flow of playing regular competitive games. It's where he tends to struggle in summer tournaments. He's lost his flow when they start, plus the effects of a long season.

If anything, yesterday's performance(which was the first full 90 mins Leo played this season) showed that he can still be great and maintain 70-80-90% of his last year's form, which basically sets him far and above every other player in the world.

With Arthur+FDJ bossing the midfield(or at the worst case scenario holding their own against talented and hard-working teams),we can hope that Leo will take a more a advanced position and won't have to the main goalscorer AND the main creator at the same time.

Fingers crossed that he'll stay away from injuries as much as it is humanly possible at this age.

If everything goes well,I think that he can easily get 35-40 goals and 15-20 assists.

Man if we had better managers since Pep, Messi would be sitting on 6 CLs career wise right now.

Insane player but he just lacks someone on the bench motivating the players, setting the tactics and putting the pieces together.

He's so good that this board have kept hiring average managers, because he makes them look good. Our recruitment policy under Zubi and partly Robert was a disaster too.
