RANT:
How did everyone miss the part about Barto "not nagotiating a transfer"? Messi is on his last season, if the "leave free" clause doesn't stand, which no one knows how will turn out. He wants to leave and we are keeping him hostage with an impossible buyout. To what end exactly?
If Barto wins this battle, both Messi and Barcelona will have lost.
To everyone in this forum that thinks Leo should have informed the club before the end of the season:
1. The season literally ended in August, not in June. So, he did inform before the end of the season. Or does he have to comply with your arbitrary views to be ethically correct?
2. Do you think Barto would have a different stance? No. He would ignore what he said about "free to leave whenever he wants" and do the same shit.
3. Would that be better for team morale ahead of the LL & CL games? No, it would be catastrophic - small difference in hindsight, but still.
4. I am pretty confident he already informed them a while ago and they ignored it, that's why the burofax thing happened, so they couldn't deny he asked out.
Messi decided to leave way before Koeman was appointed and "chated" with Suarez - so again, the "power play" and "keep my friends" conspiracies should take a hike. It's getting boring.
It's evident he didn't believe in the team since the middle of the season when he clearly stated: "We are not good enough to win the CL" and Setien thought we were..
One thing that boggles my mind is that EV's sacking and the timing of it, seems to be one of the reasons. He believed in EV way more than he should, in my opinion.
In the end, we were a far better team last year compared to this year, when it should be the exact opposite. No progress whatsoever.
This season looks bleak. We could have some improvement in midfield but we'll have the same crappy defense and a much weaker attack. Cannot comment on the coach yet.
Just play the youngsters so we can be happy about something at least.
