Lionel Messi - v7

Loan him to City for 1 year

Someone said this a few pages back and I honestly think this might be the best solution for everyone involved. We get him off our wage for the year. Messi gets a break from Barca and this board.
We get a new board next summer, Messi comes back and finishes off his career with Xavi is coach.

How beautiful does that sound??

Don't like that idea.

I truly hate Bartomeu and in my eyes Messi is the indisputable GOAT, no one is even close. That being said, I am truly discussed with his behavior. His football legacy won't be damaged by this. However, he will be remembered as a selfish person who cares only about himself and couldn't care less about the supporters who loved him to death. If he wanted to go he could have communicated that before the end of season and no one would even said a word. This is one of the ugliest farewells I have ever seen in the world of sport and it's completely his fault.

You have seriously bought into the strategy of Barto, who is trying hard - through the media he controls - to paint Messi as the villain here.

I have criticized Messi countless times here for his shortcomings on the pitch the last few years and him preserving the Amigos culture.
That being said, he is 100% right here. Messi wanted to leave some time ago and agreed to stay with the right every season to end his contract unilaterally.
That was a huge compromise he did for the club and the fans. You cannot demand more than that, when he could have won at least one UCL if he was not playing for Barca the last 3 seasons

But what am I arguing here?
There are still so many cules that hate Pep and think he betrayed the club. That's precisely the victory of the similar strategy of Rosel back then.
No wonder why that clown, Barto, is still managing to manipulate opinion.

Messi would be 35 years old, declined and also on huge wages. the sentiment would of been nice had Messi been respectful during his exit and he was willing to take a massive wage cut but nah, we need to move on.

Why is Barcelona and its fans allergic to world class coaches? Always an obsession with mediocre and/or unproven types simply because they're "connected" to the club. If a lack of Sporting project is Messi's issue, don't think he'd want to gamble the twilight of his years on Xavi either.

Right now, it is going to be the 300m+ spent on the four forwards Griezmann, Coutinho, Dembele, Trincao + Ansu. That is what we are looking at unless we can somehow muster money to sign someone like Depay or Dembele.

So we are banking on:-
a) A better collective effort with no stars. Ie - team, which we have lacked
b) Somehow for atleast one of Coutinho/Dembele/Griezmann to turn good which is a long shot.
c) Ansu to step up.

Yeah, all that money waste on practically nothing.
a)It's possible, but tbh i don't trust Koeman as a coach.I get he is a Barca legend, but he showed nothing regarding his capacity to coach Barcelona, neither from results point of view or style.I hope i am wrong.
b)Actually,to have the output that Messi and Suarez bought to the team,at least two of them should turn good, which is highly unlikely.Dembele is a crook,Coutinho it's even more of a sulker than Messi, but with 10% of his quality and Griezmann it's just not made to be a Barca player,Messi or not. We'll see.
c)Ansu is extremely overrated here,he's a good talent, but nothing out of ordinary. He's surely not a Messi kind of talent, not even close to a Cristiano Ronaldo. We can't bank on him this season,he's too young and not that incredibly good.

Zzz it's like the Neymar return saga.

Everyone was sure Neymar woukd return sky sports Italy confirming the deal with tier 1 source.

Only for talks to breakdown and Neymar stayed.

Same thing will happen this time folks

Not the same thing. Neymar didn't put in a transfer request and didn't miss every single day of training. And he didn't have just 1 year left on his contract.

Doesn't apply to ultra wealthy people.

Exactly
This fucking "pandemic" "🙄 is a scam.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban visited Australia and didn't quarantine either country.
SCAMDEMIC.

People should be more bothered about this. But all Messi fan boys worried about him leaving. Listen up fan boys, Messi doesn't give a fuck about YOU.
