Lionel Messi - v7

Ronaldo did nothing in that 2018 CL final (or semi final). Messi did have a stinker against Roma but he was the better player that year and won Barca the league.

I don't think either were great in 2014 but at least Messi helped Argentina to the World Cup final and scored what should have been the title winning goal against Atleti but was robbed. I wouldn't chose either over the other though in 2013 or 2014.

Ronaldo: 2008, 2016, 2017

Messi: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2019

I've given 2016 to Ronaldo but the sheer luck he had in CL/Euros was insane.

serghei is Ronaldo fan, no need to waste time.

Not surprisingly I haven't heard any rumours regarding interest from other clubs. Firstly they will have to base their entire system around him.
Second you have the transfer fee and wages.
Third is his age, waning powers and attitude.

I mean theres no way he can really leave right now. He's gotta see his contract out. No club is going to spend 500 mill + to buy him out.

I think this "bluff" is good. It pushes the board to actually get shit done. I personally think he should really tighten the screws even more.

i dunno how much truth there is to this but Ronald Koeman has told some of the old guard their time is up. This is where messi really needs to apply pressure to make sure it happens.

And if he stays its not a matter of him performing. Because in the shitstorm we have been in last 3 years he has still delievered consistently (bar few champions league away games).

He delivered, but the amount of fuck ups that our players managed to do in those away matches are abysmal.

What are the odds that rakitic has those brainfarts, jordi alba and suarez misses those clear chances, one of them has a mental breakdown in half time, manager put bunch of 30+ year olds with no pace against high intensity opponent at one of the most hostiles enviroment in europe and 'corner taken quickly' thing happen in the same game?

Thats only a barcelona level of possibility

I don't think it's a problem for his body since he pretty much runs or walks around 6-7 km every game.

So what is his problem then?

yeah, forum thinks he should run more. because that's what messi does, runs like a farmer.

It's not necessarily about running more. No matter how little Messi has always run in his carreer, it is undeniable that he has declined physically.

Physical issues aside, it's also a good way around his sulking issues. Sub him out if he starts sulking. I also don't see him sulking if he gets used as a sub.

Imo he's mentally done as a Barca player, sure will still have the best stats, win points in La Liga, but top tier pressure with Barca will get to him, worse and worse.

I think its best for him to go, I would definetly go in his place, as long as he is here he will feel he is beating a dead horse and will crumble on that thought.

This makes me deeply sad, our goat deserved better. Spending the last years of his career carying a dead, lazy, complacent team, fucked up by a chain of horrific decisions

Two days later Koeman literally kicks one of his closest friends out of the club.

The biggest downside to COVID is that we were spared Messigician's afternoon word vomit because schools use to be in session.

Champions League is the biggest competition and defines the most important part of the season. Ideally you need both, overall consistency over the league, and peak level in the biggest matches. But you can't say being consistent vs weaker sides over the season beats being decisive in the key games vs other European giants.

You need both, and both are key parts of a great season.

Statistics would make ronaldo the greatest ever while in fact he?s not a too 5 player in the world the last 5 years ... morons counting goals wiuld say otherwise

Taps in penalties and offside goals in his fanboys eyes is something special 😂😂
