Lionel Messi - v7

He believed Valverde because he is a good person and created no problem to the old guys.

And a tactically amazing coach.

Best Clasico record out of any manager.

Best UCL win % in the world.

Nearly took a team in crisis to an undefeated season.

Dismantling Real Madrid without Messi.

Playing incredible football at times giving us a tease of what the club could do without the seniors

When are you claiming Messi decided to leave?

The club cant negotiate without teams making an offer. It is no up to Barca to shop him around europe.

I believe he first seriously considered it in January, after EV was sacked and Setien was hired. It's an assertion of course, I can't possibly now.

The club (a.k.a. Barto) does not want to negotiate any offer though. If he hadn't sent the fax about leaving, they would now ask for 700m. Am I wrong?

Bold parts are bs.
The rest I agree. He was a good person but too soft on players. Should be more involved.
Also, had pretty bad in game decisions.

It's not bs Real Madrid fans believe we would have won the league with Valverde. Our downfall started by losing the Clasico which Valverde certainly would not have lost making the lead 5 points.

And if he had the same luck Zidane had back to back trebles and a undefeated season.

Zidane was also close to winning absolutely nothing but he became one of the most successful managers with Alot of luck.

We were the strongest team left in UCL during Valverde's first season the fact Madrid won it a team we smoked in the league both in games and in points shows exactly how unlucky we were.

Were his decision bad?

Didn't play Malcom, Arthur, Semedo, Alena, Todibo. Fans were on his back for doing so yet he was proven right with each one.

Spotted and preferred Araujo who is doing great.

Messi could have told them in June or asked for extension to making decision and if they refused then stated he would leave.

If he did neither it suggests he decided to leave much more recently than that.

The club may well negotiate if serious offer came in but they wont as City dont want to pay for him and that is where he wants to go.

We can't be sure what happened. There is a good chance he did tell them in June or July which is good enough for this season with Covid and all. He didn't sit down for a contract extension so there is that hint right there. Remember we have been hearing rumors since June, the club surely had an idea.

City could make the purchase with $$$ and players exchange except if Barto sets a price of 250m or something absurd like that.

If he told them in time his clause applies so we do know that did not happen.

'Hints' are not what is needed.

City can make any bid they want they dont need Barcas green light.

Absolute fantasy to think they will bid anywhere near 250m for Messi. City wont make a realistic bid.

Football stopped in march and resumed on June 11. The contract allowed him to leave as long as he communicated that decision before June 10. You see he does have a point here. The season was halted for 3 months.

Right now I believe they can't make a bid while Messi supports he is free and Barca claim the opposite.

Imo a good bid would be 80m + 2 players.

No Messi does not have a point unless he told them before clause expired or asked for an extension to it. Particularly if you are making claim he had already decided to go.

I have already said it is impossible for them to bid if Messi is arguing he is free. It is on City to make the bid and wait for response not for Barca to initiate it.

Public pressure would start to be on Barca to sell him if any big enough bid was received.

I was listening to Duncan Castles and he said that people around Barto think selling Messi is the right sporting move, but Barto won't because he doesn't want to be the president who lost Messi. Messi going to City for a reasonable offer is best for all parties, but now won't happen because of how it would affect Barto's legacy.

If the clause states "June 10 2020", then I cannot fathom what his lawyers were thinking, it's a weak case to say the least. It it states "end of the season" he has already won.

At this point, if messi wants to leave he should be willing to take it to court. Can't rely on any good faith from an unscrupulous snake like Barto. Just trigger a unilateral break of a contract(either with the end-of-season clause or Weber ruling), hire world class attorneys, and let the judges decide. By all precedents Ive heard the sum will be smth around 100 mill(which would be a fair price now) and in any case by the time we get a judgement Barto will be long gone. Heck next board might even withdraw the case. In the meantime Messi can get a provisional certificate from FIFA and move to city. Sometimes in life you've just got to take a stand or be pushed around by ppl who dont follow any kind of moral code.
