Barcelona has the upper hand . Take 70% pay cut or leave. Even with 70% Paycut he would be the highest Paid Player in the world.

We have the upper hand. His only choice is psg

Yeah, no.

That is to long. Even after he retires, he would still be the best paid player in the world.

I dont think thats how its intended, more like 50% of his current salary as long as hes here, but who knows. Would be batshit insane otherwise. Think its more about showing him some gratitude post his player career in Barcelona (more like a honorary role). ~750ME over 10 years wont happen - thats more than he earned in his prime.

dude gave him 550M in 4 years. So I wouldnt be that sure

Messi got overpaid the last 4 years, no doubt. But, he was still producing at about a goal per game...basically 180ish goals in 200ish games over those 4 years.

Still, a big contract without playing...no one will offer that. Maybe 10M a year or something to be an ambassador I can see. But 50-50+? Nah.

The only reliable report so far is that Messi is willing to take a 50% paycut and stay at Barca as long as the club can ensure its competitive for the CL.

Barca have also not made a financial offer to Messi yet since the audit is still going on.

Anything else being posted or reported so far is simply not true.

The 10 year thing is Messi being a Barca ambassador when he's retired and moves back to Barcelona after a stint in Miami. As a Barca ambassador the plan is for Messi to help Laporta and others close deals for the club.

The paycut is for Messi's two-three year extension at Barca before he leaves the club.

Everything is in this article.

He's not going to get paid 40m for being an executive at the club, but will likely get paid some while he helps the club in the years to come.

no, he wont. quote me on this. bet me on this. unless messi ALSO wins the copa america and performs really well in the tournament (which wont happen) he has no chance at the bdor.

im serious: bet me on this.
yeah, without copa he can finish below kdb and mbappe if they have a good euros performance which is likely to happen

but i still believe that this argentina team can reach the semi finals at least
