1.Why not bring all the bums to a common meeting and Messi too. Tell them how critical the situation is. And if Messi can go down to 30% than others can also take pay cuts. This is normal time by any means. Bad management and covid had a really bad impact.

All players have agent/lawyers represent them. That is not how it works.

Tbh I think there is an fair shot that Leo will stay a free agent for at least half a season. I?m not sure any club (even PSG) can afford him right now, assuming that the pay cut he was going to take was Barca exclusive.

Don't think anyone better will come along in the next 80 years. Kids are more interested in e-sports and money these days. Football(from a spectacle perspective) is dying and might even dissappear all together in the next century.

Football isnt dying at all.

Interest in it is as high as ever from fans to companies/states and billionaires looking to get involved and take advantage.

What did he do? What happend?

To answer myself, from Marca but guess its valid in this case or?

LaLiga Santander's fiscal agreement with the CVC investment fund was said to have made things easier for Barcelona, but even then the room to manoeuvre was limited as Los Cules had to balance their wage-bill, which would have left Ronald Koeman with a very threadbare squad going into the new season.

Furthermore, accepting the pay out from the investment fund would have meant Barcelona saying a final goodbye to the Super League, which the club were unprepared to do, leaving us with a situation whereby Barcelona extending Messi's contract and moving forward with the Super League plans was an impossible scenario.

This has led to both parties agreeing that the best thing to do is go in separate directions, especially with the Blaugrana facing challenges in selling a number of players this summer, most notably Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Antoine Griezmann and Miralem Pjanic

Bro we need to either go nuclear or tebes has to relax the rules.

Simple as that Messi cannot leave in this way

He won't. If he is going to relax, he would have done that long time ago.

He is not stupid. He knows offloading all our high wage players are unrealistic. He has made his choice long ago. Rules over Messi

La Liga announced this Wednesday an agreement with investment fun CVC to inject 2.7 billion euros. However, Javier Tebas has found himself against the firm opposition of Real Madrid and Barcelona, 'El Mundo' explained.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have united as opposition to La Liga. At least that is what 'El Mundo' have confirmed, as they report that the two clubs are against the competition's agreement with investment fund CVC.

La Liga made public the agreement with said investment said this Wednesday, with 15 votes in favour and none against the Executive Committee obtaining a credit worth 2.7 billion euros. However, less than 24 hours later, it has found itself confronted with the strong opposition of the league's two strongest clubs.

'El Mundo' explains that both Real Madrid and Barca were surprised at the new deal. "Both ourselves and Barcelona have found out about this deal through the media, despite it playing with our own rights". The same source told the newspaper that La Liga made said deal without taking into account any of the teams, and that they will try to ensure that such an agreement does not succeed.

'El Mundo' have indicated that the opposition of the two clubs, in the context of an economic crisis, comes down to the duration of the agreement between La Liga and CVC, which amounts to the next 40 years. They therefore assure that both Real Madrid and Barcelona would lose money both in the medium and long term. All of which with the approval all the clubs in the first and second division.

Messi ain't leaving. Ploy for the league to bail you out. Which they will. But all this crying he's what 34? Eventually you'll need as a club to prepare for life after Messi. Instead of giving him what 700k pw till he's 40?

It doesnt make sense as 'not registering' the current high earners who are the issue would make no difference.

Coutinho, Umtiti, Pique, Bob, Pjanic, Dembele would not do the trick? Every one of them has been dogshit so nothing of value would have been lost.

Anyway, just arguing for the sake of arguing here, don't really know all the details of how the wage cap works so yeah.
