Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

We really paid a heavy price for our success during the Messi years. He has so much money he could easily write it off. Funny how those who say they love the club want to fleece it or not help it back to its former greatness.
Pep and the City board don't want to come back. Happy taking money from the Sheikh. Messi still getting paid when he could be the bigger man and cancel the whole debt. Xavi wanting 30 million for his amateur coaching staff......

- Do Barça still owe money to Messi?

- He is owed deferred salary payments that were agreed with the previous management. Payments end in 2025. Payments are made rigorously.

Is this amount included in the payroll?

- It does, but it can be interpreted in different ways. Now such deductions will not affect the financial fair play of La Liga, and this is good news, - said Laporta.

So what can we understand from this interview?

What the club has to pay on deferred payments IS INCLUDED in the salary fund.

Recently, our vice-president stated that the club has reduced the payroll from 708 to 528 million euros.

And I read that our remaining deferred debt is 80 million euros.

As a result, it turns out that we spend 528 - 80 = 440 million euros purely on the salary of current players.

The second thing we have to understand from this interview is that Messi is a little hormonal rat who for several years systematically financially destroyed this club with Bartomeu.

This rat with his greedy father demanded more and more money - which eventually led to a domino effect. We had to raise wages for other players as well. The fact that Leo's salary influenced the appetites of other players was also confirmed by the vice-president of Barcelona.

By the way, Piqué forgave the debt. But this little rat who was supposedly ready to play for FREE for Barcelona is still getting our money.

He always pretended to be a lamb, but he was the most greedy for money in this club.

Just imagine this little hormonal rat with such a HUGE SALARY DEMANDING VIP box for his family and the Suarez family at the stadium.

And then when he was asked in an interview - he did not deny this, but asked with surprise - is this not normal?

The Mirror reported that the messages, regarding Messi, read: "Barto, really, you can't be such a good person with this sewer rat. The club has given him everything and he has dedicated himself to marking a dictatorship of signings, transfers, renewals, sponsorships just for him, etc."

"Above all the accumulation of blackmail and rudeness that the club and those of us who work [for it] have suffered from this hormonal dwarf who owes Barca his life... ah! But when things go wrong [Covid-19] you receive the mythical WhatsApp [message]: 'President, lower the salaries of others, but don't touch Luis [Suarez] and me.'"

There are probably at least 30 players that we payed a salary and a transfer fee over the years Messi was here and they didn't do shit. Some can bearly be called footballers.

Messi deal was the best deal ever, so shut the fuck up about it!

And so the monthly, 'Messi financially destroyed the club' comment has been placed. It's quite simple really.

1) Messi is the greatest footballer/sportsman ever and hence rightly deserved the biggest sports contact (if it was even that) ever, without accusations of being greedy.

2) He was one of the handful of players who actually lived up to his contract out there where it mattered, on the pitch.

3) This was a mutually agreed contract between club and player and no gun was held to anyone's head. Infact, there have been numerous sources stating that Messi's contact was more than justified for the income that he was actually bringing in.

Now, I know some expect him to just give up tens of millions of pounds to a club that has treated him rather disgracefully since he left. I know to some he is a 'cunt' if he does not do so.

Because we all know that everyone here at BarcaForum would be queuing up to do the same. And we are not even diehards like the members. You know those same members who made the club a footballing embarrassment eternally for what they did against Eintracht. And tens of millions was not at stake then, just a few hundred Euros to fatten the wallet.

It is what it is. :benitez:

Again with this sterile story just to make controversy.... without taking in consideration how much revenue Messi generated for FC Barcelona.
Laporta himself said that Messi generated much more than he earned, about a third of Barça’s total income.
We don't konw excatly how much he generated... he's a brand or rahter THE brand in football, practically sure we were making profit.

Just to get an idea

He generates more than he costs, yet we could not keep him at the club because it would exceed the salary cap.

Wouldn't the cap space increase signing Messi so to speak, because he is directly increasing revenue?

Again, this fucking bullshit about the fact that Messi brought Barcelona 30 percent of the income. This is bullshit. Ronaldo was no less a media person. How much have Real Madrid's revenues fallen since he left?
