CR7 60 goals? Did they count his goals in training too?
His freekicks were actually crazy, used to score 6-7 every other season. It's kinda weird that he became so shit at them. Its like once he started scoring 40-50 goals a season he forgot how to take freekicks.

Remember the time when Rassvet suggested Messi would struggle in physical MLS and prime Messi (08-15) would score same or less than Aguero (25-30 goals a season) for Manchester City

Also, throwback to THIS goal in THIS match. Man, that was an insane El Clasico looking at the highlights. This was a RM team that was firing on all cylinders, had just mangled Bayern, and were about to mangle AM...we went in there with an insane level and Messi put in an all-time performance.

EPL will never reach the level of peak Clasico. There's simply more romance/historical weight to when the LL giants used to be at their best or when Serie A giants faced off against each other in the heyday of Calcio. EPL's problem is that there has never been a time when both of their historical giants (Man United and Pool) were both dominant.

Never understood how someone turns shite at free kicks overnight.

Surely a guy like him didn't just stop practicing. Bizzare.

Also, about Free Kicks, the Best Free Kick Takers are always the ones that can score from a variety of angles and ranges and have great delivery too.

In terms of Free Kicks, no one's touching guys like Juninho and Beckham.

James Ward Prowse a decent English player nowhere near World Class, is the best active free kick taker itw.

Let's see which take is worse:

1) Me thinking Pep won't win CL without Messi, Xavi, Iniesta after 10 years of CL meltdowns/unlucky games

2) You thinking the GOAT would struggle in MLS and score 25-30 goals in his prime in EPL

My take was a L...your take needs medications. Now pipe down, lil gargoyle

This is a great move for Messi.

This might just be the gig that makes him more famous and popular worldwide than Ronaldo.

Let's not forget, American media is the most powerful itw. The soft power, pop culture influence and reach they possess is miles above any other nation on the globe.

This Hollywood and NBA association will give Messi even more limelight and popularity.

All he has to do now is learn a bit of English and go on some talk shows. He'll be known by all circles in the States.

These last 2 years have done a lot for penetrating his brand into territories unknown. The World Cup, the narratives around him and the MLS move all makes so much sense for his brand.
Messi became BOAT on 5/28/11

and became GOAT in July 2023

No but I do remember the time when a wannabe forum cop said Djokovic would "bodybag" Alcaraz in the final.

Also it's not like Messi moved to a farmer's league in an state funded oil club and flopped miserably. 6 league goals and got kicked out by the fanbase. Embarrassing.

Stay mad. Cuck.

Jesus, how did Ronaldinho reach those numbers? Only remember a few. Pele's figure I'm sure should be taken with a grain of salt.
Ronaldinho was actually a really good free kick taker. One can't just look at number of free kick goals without also taking into account how many misses they had. Ronaldinho had 205 free kick atempts scoring 15 goals in la liga. Ronaldo with absolute certainty has had more free kicks than any other player in history, by a country mile, his lifetime conversion rate is barely 6,5%, 60 goals in over 900 free kicks. Messi is around 9% in about 700 free kicks.
