Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

We have a very young core of players and no depth. To strengthen short-term doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Not all that young.

Next season it will be Pedri 21, Balde 20 and Gavi 19 as three youngest.

All internationals with 1/2/3 seasons behind them.

Also the flip side of it is how many old players Barca would have.

Messi at this age is fine in isolation. And with that I mean no Lewa up top and no Busquets behind. Basically our only aged player with the team working around him to activate him.

Just as PSG but with us having more quality behind and less quality infront.

Won't happen like that though. Opposite infact.

Busquets and Alba staying is the only thing that gives me anxiety about Messi returning. But in principle it should allow us to sell Raphina and reinvest.

Depends on how much they pay Messi if could even reinvest what sell Raphinha for.

Just selling him for fee paid would be about same cost on books of paying Messi 20m.

Rather simplistic logic. Messi won't bring in the money some claimed when he was on his 150m/year contract, but he would surely attract sponsors and engagement.

Well Raphinha is not relevant to that point then as wont be reinvesting his fee and anything Messi brings in will be a long time from this summer most likely.

Easier just saying Messi back boosts revenue.

The sad part is Raphinha would probably suit being a back up to Messi in that system than is for Dembele but like basically all the attacking players should be on market... would include Lewa in that.

Getting rid of Lewy would be a dream.
Not gonna happen.

Sure , he was very disappointing overall in big games but we still need someone to score vs lower teams.

He has 27 goals and 7 assists so far in all comps. If Messi comes , Lewa will do much better vs better teams.

He has worse goals per min in league than Auba or LDJ and his lack of pace allows teams to defend higher up park.

Barca won every game he missed.. including when he put team down to 10 men away to Osasuna and also win in Bernabeu.

Even if does score goals.. so did Ronaldo at United and they are better without him.

Add to that the huge cost on books of Lewa and poor money spent.

Paying him about same on books as would paying 100m for a younger striker on 10m a season.

So this dumbass Laporta is planning to give 13m NET (!) on a finished 36 yr old,
while he already has three other finished 34 and 35 yr olds on 10m NET or so
(and despite our new wage structure where max is 10m net)

I am OUT for a while if this happens.
