Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Messi and Iniesta owns most of our history. Nobody will support Barcelona for Xavi. Xavi was there before and we got only the few deluded Dream Team fans abroad of my age. Before Ronaldinho we were under Milan, Juve, Inter, Real, United, Arsenal, Bayern, even f Valencia as fan base. While Ronaldinho did got us in the club (with hard work from Iniesta, Messi, Valdez, Puyol etc) Messi made us bigger than all of them.
Yes the last salary was huge but given the other salaries and his output was quiet normal for us, maybe he had tantrums over time, but if he was a money merchant as Mbppape he had Milan, Inter, Chelsea, PSG, City, Real that could offer him mountains of money.
Just look at what PSG paid to Mbappe who won nothing special for them. Imagine the Messi deal back in 2013, or the City deal or even a move to Real in 2008, Milan, Juve, Inter before, Chelsea in 2011.

And no, Messi was quite close to save the club with his transfer request, 100 something before pandemic could have paid allot of bills for terminating the contracts of useless players on big salaries.

The club started to go unprofitable because of Grizman loan and salary on top of others and the constant harrasment by the same plastics on Bartomeu to transfer back Neymar or a replacement to compete Perez in UCL lol. Every f deluded transfer was requested by those plastics. Dembele, Coutinho, Griz despite being obvious disasters.

That's it, the fuckers thought you can compete mafia and somehow saw in Neymar transfer some tragedy.
In reality Mbappe was way more good in 2017 and selling Neymar was mandatory despite his good PSG game if you saw anything.
Those plastics, mundo, sport, blaugranes, talkfcb and other fuckers made Bartomeu push the club to the limits and then the pandemic who was unpredictable crushed the club.
The club had the oportunity to sell Messi right there if he was unprofitable, had the oportunity to refuse paiments to players and to get in a civil court. But they prefered to get loans and not all under Barto.

And don't tell me because I was absolutely canceled for criticism to Suarez, Dembele, Neymar, Griz. Fans were against Suarez only in the last year and even now the plastics call out Koeman for telling him to g out.
Anyways, the beauty of this forum is debating Barca history with clueless men.
Messi was for sure not cheap to keep but if he was a merchant my god it was a stupid merchant to remain at Barcelona when there were tons of olygharchs and kings who would have buried him in money.
Barto’s right hand man said no one wanted to sign Messi for a fee as they knew he would available for free a year later. Nobody made a offer: Messi included a clause to leave for free at the end of every season for a reason man

Messi was much more involved in defensive work and pressing back then. Yes, it was not Firmino's level WITHOUT THE BALL, but he ran a lot and was actively involved in pressing.

Problems began to appear in the 2011-2012 season.

By the way, I am inclined to believe that this was one of the reasons why Pep decided to leave. He could control everyone, but not Messi.

Does Pep respect Messi? Yes. Is he considered individually the strongest football player in history? Yes.
But Pep wanted to continue to build a team that would obey his principles, namely the principles of total football.
Yes I remember a story told in the club.

Pep had a policy no players are allowed to consume soft drinks from the clubs vending machine they are for staff only:

Messi upon hearing this bought a Pepsi and drank it in front of Pep as if to say what are you going to do about it?

Pep said nothing and walked away.
A year later pep would leave the club citing burnout

He tracked backed in Lucho era as well, but those are isolated instances.

The whole discussion of Messi not being great defender is ridiculuous. It just serves as an another excuse for CR7 fans. How many tackles did Cristiano made?

But, but, but....

  • Lionel Messi secretly agreed to join Chelsea for $290 million in 2014, however the deal collapsed when his father and agent, Jorge Messi, found out about it.
  • Sky Sports' Gianluca Di Marzio's says Chelsea agreed to give Messi an annual wage of $65 million plus 70% of image rights, with the Argentine keen on the deal.
  • However it crashed and burned after Messi's father was made aware of the plans by an intermediary who was angry he was squeezed out of the negotiations.

All you need to know about Messi lol

9 contract renewals in 10 years every time he’s threatened to leave he’s been rewarded with a new contract

"It was a time when Tito was at a delicate point and it's true that at that time Leo wasn't clear on staying," recalled Vilanova's assistant Jordi Rourain 2019.

"They met and, although I wasn't there, I know they were talking for hours.

"From there, he changed his mind and saw some things more clearly.

"I don't know what they spoke about, but Messi decided to stay and we hope he does for many years."

"At that time I thought about leaving, not because I wanted to leave Barcelona but because I thought about leaving Spain," Messi admitted to RAC1 last year.

"I felt badly treated and I didn't want to be here any longer.

"I had the door open to many teams, even if there were no official offers because they all knew I wanted to stay at Barcelona.

"In that case, the situation went beyond what I felt for my home.

"It was a personal issue."

Playing alongside friends Luis Suarez and Neymar, settled in Castelldefels and at the club and winning a double that season, he decided not to leave despite being handed a suspended prison sentence and fine.

My president

Gaspart: I would have led Barcelona to ruin so that Messi would have stayed

"I don't know what will happen with Xavi; the president and board will decide what is best for Barcelona"

"A cule does not stop being cule. It is a disease that has no cure, it is cured the day you die," said Joan Gaspart, who is 79 years old, to Rocio Burgos and Edu Pidal.

Before Bartomeu, Gaspart was undisputedly the worst president of FC Barcelona in history.

You are missing the point. Messi is the exception to the rule because he is that good. Even Pep recognizes that, which is why he gave Messi the key to roam around freely, including not pressing.

All the other players need to follow positional football.
Messi is not allowed to press. FALSE

He is not allowed to press as actively as others. TRUE

So, if Leo had been involved in pressing and defending in the same way as in the 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and the first half of the 2011-2012 season, there would be no questions for him.

But in the 2012-2013 seasons etc he became so bad off the ball that IT BECAME unacceptable.

Probably as cool as Ferran Torres is going to be in a year or two, playing a middling side
Semedo moved to an average Premier League club at 26.
Let's do this
If Ferran Torres, at the age of 26, plays in a club of the level of Wolverhampton, I will leave the forum, but if Ferran continues to play in a TOP club or in a club with the prefix PRE-TOP, you will leave the forum.

Are you ready, clown?
