Don't be too harsh on Messi.

Ronaldo just set unrealistic standards for what to expect from players in the latter stages of Champions League

That's unreal, must be the biggest individual record ever :worthy:

Difference is Messi has assisted and created like 15 chances in the 2 games
Absolutely. As said, not only a goat goalscorer but also a goat playmaker, like Maradona or Pele.

It's another example of boiling Messi down to goals as that's all Ronaldo can compete with him in
Absolutely.
It’s like comparing Maradona to Marco Van Basten at that time😆
Hilarious

41-16.

And these Messi dickriders have the audacity to troll Ronaldo everyday.

According to the Argentine Forrest Gump's fanboys, Barca had the best squad in the world and best player in every position. Yet it's 41-16 in the biggest stages of the toughest competition!
Many of Ronaldo's goals have been sheer stat padding though. For example the two in 2014 semis after Ramos had already sealed the tie, or the fourth in the final - a penalty in 120th minute after he'd been awful and he pathetically celebrated like he'd been MOTM. In fact most of his goals in the knockout stages that year were meaningless.

Admittedly he scored plenty important goals too. But Messi has had plenty of great games where he doesn't score, that is what you are missing. For example Messi was miles better in the 2015 final than Ronaldo was in the 2014 final -but Ronaldo gets a goal and Messi doesn't. Then that contributes to you drooling over his stats like above. Ronaldo simply scores a lot of meaningless goals, or scores in games where he's otherwise anonymous. Messi generally plays pretty well whether he scores or not - because he is an eye test footballer, loved by purists. He's not a boring, creepy stats obsessive like Ronaldo.

Like I said earlier - you are making the mistake of distilling it to goal stats, when Messi offers so much more than goals and Ronald doesn't. It does a disservice to Messi.

The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter what narrow criterion you use (goals in knockout stages of CL for example). Messi is simply a miles more talented and natural footballer. And you can never change that. And I would posit that Ronaldo's woefulness for his country in knockout stages (3 goals in 19 games and very few assists) is more reflective of his actual level - when he's not surrounded by Real Madrid or Man United team-mates. Messi has been surrounded by great team mates too, but he's actually been much more influential than Ronaldo when they both play for lesser team mates (Argentina and Portugal). And don't give me the myth that Argentina are full of superstars and Portugal full of donkeys - they've both been decent/good teams, just not as Barca and RM level. The difference is Messi has elevated Argentina whereas Ronaldo has turned Portugal into a circus and been an actual noose around their neck, as he still is today.

Messi has proved he can do it in all conditions, and is simply a far superior footballer. You're a good guy but if you cannot see Messi is far better at football, it's time to give up. Though I suspect you know that and just troll for the laughs.

Also, no point calling Messi 'Forrest Gump' - Ronaldo is a very strange individual with zero charisma or redeeming features. You can hardly point the finger at Messi's personality or neurotypicalness while wanking over a guy as creepy as Ronaldo :ROFLMAO:

You know I am right so you might as well not reply and quit while you are behind.

Messi also has a lot more goals in R of 16 KO against tougher opponents on average than CR7 had. Messi's faced off against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal multiple times, City multiple times, AC Milan, PSG etc etc. in R of 16.

I think in total, CR7 has 67 or so goals in CL KO and Messi has 50ish, which is about right considering one was a finisher/striker for the RM CL winning machine while the other was a false 9 to RW to AM for Barca in Barca's glory days.

The people here have grown bored of beating down these shameless cucks though

Fati and Temp between them have like 40,000 posts on a forum of a team they don't support and the only reason straitjacket Rassy isn't up there in numbers is because well...he's in a straitjacket half the time and can't access the internet

No greater cuck behavior than patrolling Messi threads and dropping 40,000 posts on an opposition forum in 2-3 years

Washed up Arsenal, pre Ney/Mbappe- PSG, washed up AC Milan 🤣🤣🤣 dude come on, you can say that Messi didnt play as striker during his career like maradona37 did and provided more than only goals but in terms of goals Ronaldo's stats are SUPERIOR to Messi's, the best individual record of all time 💯🥸🔥
