Seeing LBJ get crushed in the playoffs makes you realize just how great his and Argentina's WC run was.

5 months later and by far the greatest old man WC (and one of the greatest WC performances in general) performance in history.

...even though it was sealed for smartasses like me in 2007 with Getafe goal. Messi has so many career defining moments and Cristiano has barely any.In 20 years households will wonder how could you have even compared the two.And this coming from someone who likes everyone and is objective.

In this day and age people are too obsessed with stats to not compare them. If Haaland scores 800+ in the end he will be seen as such as well.
People will forget Iniesta's greatness or think he is overrated due to big game performances compared to a guy like say Lampard who had great stats.
Its a byproduct of the influence america has culturally and their obsession with stats in everything.

Messi has so many career defining moments and Cristiano doesn't. It's that simple. I love both players.

Messi dominated for 4 years, then Cristiano came and beat Messi 5 out of 6 years, and just when it was looking as if Ronaldo will overtake him he made a decisive mistake : leaving Madrid. Ended his career and enabled Messi to build an insurmountable lead.
