Yeah, he was, not unbelievably good (due to some good chances missed), but still good enough to easily make the final if not for a massive letdown from some of our so-called stars.

Messi was good at Anfield, created plenty of chances for others to waste. The problem is you cannot afford more than one non-runner off the ball - we had two. PSG has 2.5 as Neymar can to an extent.

Argentina and France were a good example where they have runners willing to run for their life for Messi and Mbappe.

Sounds like Messi is aiming to win Copa America in 2024 and then possibly retire. That would be my guess. Either that or he want some home games in Argentina in front of the fans before he calls it a day.
