This Messi is way more boring to watch than the young Messi.

That version had acceleration and magic that got you on the edge of the seat.

This one is more about tidy passes and shit but doesn't have that wow factor. Not exciting to watch.

Had it been Pirlo or Modric spraying those perfectly weighted passes all over the pitch, being absolute class on the ball, I imagine you'd be giving them much more credit and praise. Yes Messi was an absolute freak of nature for most of his career, but what he's lost he makes up for in other areas. The influence he had on Argentina this tournament is undeniable, and he was clutch throughout the whole tournament since the 2nd game against Mexico where everything was on the line. Literally contributed directly to a goal in every single game.

And even tho he's visibly slower, and much more focused on playmaking than before, he still averages more dribbles per 90 this season than Mbappe, Vincius, Neymar and Dembouz. And has a higher succes rate.

Impressive stuff huh.

Pirlo and Modric fanboys don't pollute social media with the pathetic "GOAT" shite all day.
