He wrote that he was joking so definitely not sincere. He's also really stupid though with the shit he's managed to involve himself with in Argentina. I suppose every family got one of those guys.

CR7's sister and Messi's brother are made for each other lmao.

One could argue that Messi's brothers or CR7's sister won the best genetic lottery...

Although no one gives a fuck about them history/legacy wise, they got to enjoy a hassle free life riding on the coattails of their siblings who had to endure endless scrutiny/criticism/pressure to perform on a daily basis. Yes, Messi won the genetic lottery with his otherworldly talent, but he had to burden so much expectation and pressure for Barca and Argentina (especially) through the years. Mattias Messi or whatever this dude's name is does fuck all, and gets to travel around the world and has his bills paid for.

.@pibedale: "I don't think Messi will ever play for Barca again. They have been unfaithful with him. When there is infidelity, the body can heal, but the soul will never heal. Leo's soul was broken and it will never heal

What's done is done, or in the words of the mister: It is what it is.
Messi is in retirement age and leaving did him wonders for the WC that was his dream.
Carrying Barca to a Copa or even a league win, would not be enough reason to stay at 33, even if it was his plan at the time.
Barca are finally moving on, even with our financial issues.
Why do we keep on visiting the same issue?
We don't have a cheat code anymore and it's ok. We have many young talents popping up, Xavi as the coach and the old guard is almost gone.
We should focus on the present and the future.

I love Messi and for me he is the indisputable GOAT but his Barca chapter is over. Returning back to Barca this summer would be a huge mistake for both sides. Furthermore, we have moved on and we have many young talents and a manager who has authority over them. Bringing Messi beck would just bring problems to the locker room and the lack of discipline on the field. I don't think that Laporta and Xavi are even contemplating the idea. They are for sure well aware that nothing good would come out of it.

It is visible from the moon that he lacks passion and energy when he plays for PSG. However, extending contract with them for one more season is probably the only realistic option he has on the table. I sincerely hope that for the sake of his legacy he will retire or go to MLS after 2024 Copa America or he might end up doing exactly the same mistake Ronaldo did.

Well let's see the fallout if PSG go crashing out of the CL to Bayern. It looks on the cards, but this is football and stranger things have happened.

We done a good job of cleansing the amigo culture from the club, only one is left in the 11 while Alba is there but more rotation. I wonder how things would be if Messi had one last hurrah in Xavi new system. I guess he would slip into that Dembele/Raphinha free role kind of position and we would shift to him being the creative genius, but also play a bit more methodical.

Still, salary cap is fried so no chance he comes back this way. I don't know what sponsorship increase we could manage with the triumphant return of Catalunya's adopted son angle, considering he already has the World Cup and that success is associated with not being a Barca player.

Plus with the City leaks, we can rest assured that the talk of PSG sponsorship increases because of Messi, is probably a majority share of Qatari companies inflating by channeling money back in PSG. Possibly to cover the added expense of Messi's huge contract

Anything but a Champions League win for PSG would be unacceptable for the owners and the fans, especially with what the likes of Mbappe and Messi earn.

Obviously when he joined people were saying he's going to win the CL again and some even suggested he'd win two but football is not played on paper, that PSG squad is super unbalanced.

Just as the World Cup felt unstoppable and destiny for Leo, it feels almost inevitable it's all going to come crashing down in Paris. I'm glad he got the fairytale ended he deserved in Qatar because I don't think it will happen for him in club football if he stays there, they were already booing him last year.

What they spend on the front 3 is visible throughout the rest of the squad too with the likes of Soler, Vitinha etc. Your average Ligue 1 side can make them look very ordinary when you press them, and the oppositions midfield and defence have very little resistant from PSG's front line when playing out from the back.

It always feels like PSG are stuck in some halfway house between their current sporting directors vision and Nasser Al-Khelaifi's desire to create the Harlem Globetrotters.

He should aim for that most decorated player achievement. Need trash trophies like Coupe de France for that though.

That together with some success in CL, either another win or becoming the highest scorer would be a great end to the career.

So let's say he doesn't continue with PSG nor he returns to Barcelona. Where could he go? Is there any club in Europe, apart from those two, where he could go and be happy for at least one more season? I must say I don't see any.

I don't think that any PL club apart from Newcastle would sign him at the age of 36 and he for sure won't go there. In Italy there is no club that could offer him anything exciting and Bayern for sure won't sign a 36y old player regardless of his GOAT status. IMHO he has only three options right now. He can either extend with PSG for one more season, go back to Barca and accept significantly lower salary, or go to MLS in the summer. And that's basically it.

New angle is Saudi football. Bidding for WC2030. Already getting in with FiFa sponsoring the WCC.

What better way to ambassador the whitewash by manufacturing the final Ronaldo/Messi battle in their league. Hell, they can both probably play until 2030 there!

Ok, that's his fourth option. In the end there is only one question. Does he want to seriously compete for another year and get to Copa 2024 ready or he doesn't give a fuck? If he doesn't care anymore than MLS or Saudi Arabia would be the logical choice. The one thing I am sure of is that PSG fans won't tolerate another 365 days of him walking on the pitch and that could get ugly pretty soon. The moment they go out of CL things could change dramatically for him and Neymar. To be fair, if Bayern knocks them out of CL I sincerely doubt that Messi will continue in Paris.

I mean - after THAT world cup glory (not only that he won, but how he won it at 35), it's probably hard for him to be fired up for a Coupe De France game.

He'll give more effort v Bayern, but the level of PSG isn't at the point where he can make the difference (at 35) versus a top CL side. If he had the teammates (especially midfield) who compliment him as he does at Argentina, then definitely.

It's obvious though that he considers his PSG stint as a retirement home/training stint for his Argentina career
