He does have that clause that let's him prioritise Argentina matches over PSG ones.

Plus there is no incentive for him to join City from a career perspective. Sole objective for both City and PSG is the CL. Messi has distroyed the top 6 in England already, so nothing to prove if one wants to go the rainy night in Stoke route.

Exactly!

Winning the PL with City holds surely greater importance than Ligue 1 Ubereats

But City has already won 3 of the last 4 and are the favourites to win it again. Hardly a huge achievement.

What both City and PSG really lack is the CL and they both have come really close the recent years. So, as long as Leo wins another CL, it doesn't really matter where he does it, as long as he is the best player, or at least a really important player(taking into consideration that he will be almost 35 by the end of this season).

Going to city & the EPL was the much more prestigious move, if he doesn't win the CL at PSG which is not a guarantee, then it would be a meme move for him to have gone to France.

If he want to city (not that it was possible) even if he didn't win the CL but won 2 league times in 3 years and ran over all those epl teams showing them a type of footballer that frankly even though he is the best player in the world & played for one of the biggiest club in the world, much of the British fans haven't seen week in week out, nor have certain fans of the epl around the world.

That would have been a much better look for his legacy, even without the CL at city.

Psg it's CL are bust.

He's still a competitive guy and only 34 which is the new 28 with alot of players these days so still loads he could do. Anyway he could destroy them all over again and do to Norwich or Burnley what he did to Bolivia in a league that most of the world watches and talks about every week especially where I live. He could score a hatrick against lille and it would be barely talked about around the world because most won't be watching. Also from a selfish point of view I want him there and I'm sure there are plenty more who do as well. Ronaldo will be stealing all the headlines that matter in club football most weeks now

As of right now, Messi's only goal is the WC and the CL so moving to PSG is the right move to achieve those goals imo.

He wouldn't have the pressure to miss out on league games in France as he probably would have done if he went to England and he could give his all for the national team and for the CL with PSG.

If he had retired from international duties, then City would have been a better move.

Exactly! It's a move that made sense for him and his family. Move to City was what fans wanted. Nothing for him to prove to anyone. Can prepare for his real goal, the WC, way better at PSG.

Psg barely scrape into the top 5 favourites for the champions league with that team and playing in that league will hamper their chances even more

I wonder what percentage of people other than psg or united fans are watching those 2 play now. Probably 99 percent to united
