I wonder what percentage of people other than psg or united fans are watching those 2 play now. Probably 99 percent to united

CL might swing it a little in favor of PSG (tough group with City - more entertaining team than United also) but if they fail early in the CL, Messi will fade just as Neymar did. Theres a reason Mbappe wants out of that league

Somewhere in an alternate universe, Messi joined City, Ronaldo joined United and we witness the ultimate final battle of 2 greats

We already had those ultimate battles during the crazy El Clasico after El Clasico era. Nothing today would match up to those games anyway. Both players now went to an environment that's comfortable for them - Ronaldo is back in the club that idolizes him and Messi joined his buddies in Paris.

Neymar has been the past four years :D

Tbh it's bad both ways. If you rest them too much in Ligue 1, you will possibly have them too relaxed and not tuned up for CL. If you don't rest them, they could get injured vs some Clermont or Dijon and miss a key CL game like Neymar did.

No matter how they do, it's a lose-lose.

Ligue 1 is terrible for CL. Not a top league tactically, but at the same time very intense physically and with some butcher teams to get your stars injured at random terrible times.

Especially with Neymar, who is made of glass.

Yea, but I've watched some games from Ligue 1 sporadically and the smaller sides really take chunks out of the bigger teams' stars. It's an "if you can't match them football-wise, make them feel it in their bones" type of mentality I guess.

City where never really in it for Messi this summer (nor where they for Ronaldo).

Both joined the team that wanted them and could pay there wages.

Mbapp? has also been injured the last two years for our CL campaigns while he was in great form before. Injury against Saint-Etienne that has forced him out of team, only to come back not totally fit and drop not so good performance in Portugal. Injury against Metz before Manchester City game.

It is a myth repeated by ignorant people that PSG can rest and actually rest his best players because the league is so weak they can coast it without them. Without our best players and even with them, we do not win our games that easily and they end up being injured more often than we could wish.

Messi will be pizzed if Cronaldo scores a ton of goals and wins the next Balon D?or whilst he?s languishing in that lousy French league

More like Ronaldo will be pissed when Messi wins his 7th ballon dor and can focus on CL and WC for the next two seasons while he is busting his ass and getting kicked every week in a league he probably won’t even win.

Ronaldo have too much hype to not be a threat

Ronaldo literally said this two years ago lmao

I'd only play important games... those of the national team and the Champions League”: Cristiano Ronaldo admits he would only play on the big occasions for Portugal and Juventus if it was up to him.
