The number of injuries is too much, imo. Though, i'm going to tell you, keep gavi and periodically, nico on the starting line up. Together with a healthy missing starters: pedri, ansu, araujo etc ..hopefully at least we could reach europa league.. or even better, 4th position ,when all is done.

If xavi does come, i'm positive it is achievable. We'll try to replace messi factor with team work.

Unfortunately for Messi fans Messi level talents appear every 20-30 or so years. It'll be like 10 years (30 years after Messi's debut) or so before they meet their next Messi. Hope all is well until then.

Maybe once every 10 years but for them to live up to the potential and stay injury free is the difficulty. Brazilian Ronaldo and Ronaldinho were genius level talents but had a short span at the top of their game of a few years (I don't think Mbappe is at their level).

Messi and Ronaldo had 10-15 years which is what separates them from many other great players who had 3-5.. Even Maradona was only really at an insane level for the years he was at Napoli, it didn't happen for him at Barca before that and then the physical decline after Napoli.

Him, Covid affected travel, our team being shit, lack of any other star player etc.

Him: him. Covid affected travel yes of course however it's not too difficult within europe to travel atm, not if you already have the money for a trip to barcelona to see a match. Our team being shit: would be less shit with him here. Lack of any other star player: If he was here then we'd have a star player.

Big reason there's less fans is no Messi. Can be spun anyway people like. Yes, there's other reasons too. If even half the fans aren't turning up is due to him (that's being generous to the other reasons) that's over 20m on tickets alone.

Adds up to hundreds of thousands of missing customers at the merchandise stores, food stands etc (which if you've been to a game are full to the brim of customers wanting to purchase something).

Just pointing out how he more than likely paid for that hefty contract that people hated him for.

People can hate on footballers in general then. Makes no difference if a guy earns 10M or 70M a year, for the average Joe that is.

The hate is mainly media driven in order to get clicks.

But I agree that him leaving was the biggest hit on our attendance.
