Probably good for French football that Nice did win last night. To be honest the main thing that holds PSG back is the lack of competition. Nice is the supposed second-best team in that country and let's be honest they're shit.

PSG can afford to build galactico teams with zero chemistry because the competition punishes them 1 season out of every 7 for it.

In regards to Messi, I think his main aim and motivation lies with Argentina now. I will always believe he's the GOAT but he's not a difference-maker against the elite anymore and probably hasn't been since 2019. This is why it's still so frustrating that Anfield happened as his heroics deserved another European trophy.

I certainly feel he would be fairing better individually at Barcelona but the man moved unexpectedly at 34 and I think is struggling to adjust to that.

Coincidence?

:valverde2:

Good post though

timeline of Messi's confusing statements

MAY 2014: And aside from speculation, a post by the player himself on his Chinese social media site suggested all was not well: "The truth is that things have not gone as we expected -- it was a tough year, both personally and in the group. About my own situation, I am happy to stay at my home [Barcelona], as I have always said. It is the people in Barcelona who have to decide what to do about my future, but my choice is to stay once I feel the same affection from them. If not, then I will look for another solution because I will always want the best for this club."

Just over six months since that fuss, Messi's future was again in the spotlight. He missed an open training session after being left on the bench against Real Sociedad, then began to follow Chelsea players and the club on Instagram, fuelling rumours of a move to join up with Jose Mourinho of all people. It was suggested his relationship with his coach, Luis Enrique, was at breaking point. However, with the help of Xavi, Luis Enrique and Messi were able to overcome their problems.

Messi firmly states he wants to finish his career at Camp Nou: "I've always said that I can't leave Barcelona. It's always my response. I want to finish my career at home and my home is Barcelona. Football changes so much. A year ago, we were all getting criticised and we ended up winning nearly everything. My intention is to terminate my career where it started, in Barcelona."

a few months later

Messi suggests he'd like to return to Argentine club Newell's Old Boys, where his career started, when his time at the top level in Europe ends: "I would love to [return to Newell's]. It is something I have kept an eye on because it was my dream as a child."

peaking to RAC1 (h/t AS), the Blaugrana legend said the investigation made him consider a change of scenery:

"There have been times when I have ended up tired due to a lot of circumstances. There were several times, especially in 2013 and 2014, when I had the problem with the Treasury.

"The best thing of all was that my children were small and didn’t know anything, but we had a bad time. At that time I had it in my mind to leave, not because I wanted to leave Barca

"Dear Mr. Bartomeu," Messi's burofax began.

"Hereby, and in accordance with the provisions of clause 3.1 of the contract dated November 25, 2017, I hereby express my wish to terminate my employment contract as a professional footballer with effect from August 30, 2020.

He be scoring and assist as he is the central crutch, but make no mistake it would still be a shitshow. At least at PSG he won't get all the ridicule.

I'm not a schizophrenic like you. So I don't respond to PMs from lads who are well known and self-admitted trolls

That message was like 2 days ago. Find me where I baited you where you weren't already flinging shit at me and others first  I think you've mentioned me like 10-20 times since that PM alone.

Lying and classless. And mentally ill. Do everyone a favor and stop PMing me, making threads about me, and pining for my attention on threads. It's the epitome of weakness.

wow wow wow guys whats happening here when im not around :frenkie:

I hope you have learned now, you did the same between 2017-2020 (probably started earlier) with a lot of members here, attacked them 24/7 if they said an opinion you didn't like - sometimes you have to get your own medicine to be able to reflect on his own behavior.

PS: There is a reason why PM means private messages :p

Messi wanted to go in 2009 after winning sextuple? Because of Ibra?

Poch to United and Zidane to PSG as I predicted.

There were rumors that Zidane was offered the job recently but turned it down because he didn’t want to face RM.
