Agreed. Take out the top 6 in EPL and you're not left with much in terms of European results and actual quality in the football played. Regardless of the money spent and players/managers those sides have.

Teams outwith top 6 will rarely qualify for Europe so that makes plenty sense.

Teams in top 4 in La Liga are not even making it to CL quarter finals regularly in recent seasons.

Far more quality outside top 6 in EPL. Try to watch games between teams outwith that in La Liga and it is about as boring and lacking quality as will see.

teams in top 4 Liga don't make CL quarters regularly because they don't have the financial power the top 6 in EPL have. and it's not like all those in top 6 are reaching the quarters, it is usually 4 of those 6 rotating depending on their form that season.

pump sevilla, villareal or betis full of money and you could get malaga 2.0 when they had a rich owner.

far more quality on paper, yes. on european results and football played teams outside EPL top 6 are poor.

There is no point in arguing against PL fans, especially now when PL is better than La Liga.

Even when La Liga was dominating European competitions, when Real, Barca and Atleti were all top 5 sides in Europe, and Sevilla the best EL side, the PL fans were still arguing that PL is better.

i remember the good old times when Sevilla met Liverpool in El final, i think it was in 2017 (correct me if im wrong catta dude). PL fans were acting like they bet their house, car and wife on liverpool and then Sevilla teached them football in a way which i rarely have seen. One of the greatest finals.

Yeah, Pep Barca would never dominate EPL like that. 10 years later Pep destroyed PL with discount Barca.

Pep's city is greater than the sum of its parts, which are mostly good players to a couple of great players (notably KDB).

Pep's Barca was also greater than the sum of its parts, which were mostly great to GOAT tier players in their positions (Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Alves etc.)

Pep's Barca would have averaged 95 points in the EPL over 4 years and similarly laid waste to Europe (even more so now than they did from 08-2012 as there are less great teams around IMO).

Pep's City played wonderful football in his first two years, people said it was nearly Pep Barca level but they didnt have the mentality which the barca players from 08-12 had to win the cl.

Mentality is part of it. But a bigger part was players like prime Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Alves are legendary level. Not to mention proven killers like Eto'o, Henry, Puyol, Toure, Masch, Villa. Supporting cast of Pedro, Keita, Marquez, Abidal etc. Even lads like Pique and Busquets and VV had a relatively good peak in those days. Those teams were loaded from start to finish.

It's not often that a team wins a CL final against a strong opponent in style/with ease. I only remember 3 teams doing that. Barca 09, Barca 11, RM 2017. Not even Bayern 2013 or Barca 15, who were clearly the better side in the final, were so thoroughly a class above a good opponent.

Liverpool 19 had to play cynical vs the Spurs. Bayern 20 barely beat PSG and would have lost if Mbappe wasn't a garbage shooter that day.

Messi is still top 10 IMO. He only does poor compared to his past versions of himself. Only a few younger players are ahead of him. Most of these wonderkids running around still haven't even touched his diasterclass form
