Messi actually has 2nd most shots per game in the PSG-squad though, so its not like he is getting ignored.

I don't know, many a times I've seen them ignore him when he clearly was the better option. Or at times, after they score 1-2, they try to find him with every ball probably to compensate and help him score also.

Or maybe it's just me, a Barca fan, that got accustomed to seeing Messi in a system all these years.

Sometimes it just takes time for a team to build chemistry with a new player. PSG’s midfield is good at having the ball in the middle of the park, and that’s about it. No connection to the front line. Messi drops deep and has only Mbappe as a clear out ball. He’s had some success with this hence the assists but it’s a bit like the Messi-Alba connection, can’t keep trying the same thing when everyone knows it’s probably your only option.

He also doesn’t work hard enough, probably demands to play every game which is pointless and harms PSG and he slows the game down too much when keeping it moving would be the best option. Maybe he’s figuring out what movements his teammates do as much as they are figuring him out. In the games I have seen he looks frustrated when he passes it expecting it back like he would have got at Barca over the last few years.

Messi's PR machine has been exposed hard this season. If Messi had stayed at Barcelona, the narrative all season would have been this:

"Messi is still the best player in the world by a mile. He's just paying for being too loyal in staying at this midtable Barcelona team when he could be tearing up the champions league and scoring 50 goals a season at PSG or City."

Messi's PR was so good that we didn't even realize how good it was.

You're the who spread that PR

What even is this post? Now using hypothetical scenarios to hate on him. Seriously get some help

Messi will be forgotten in 10 years.
He had a great chance to be a legend like Johan Cryuff with statues outside camp nou.
Johan Cryuff is like the beatles of football. Revolutionalized football so much that special tactics are still developed to stop it.
- He gave opportunities for young people to dream.
- Barca women team is built on the same DNA.
- The brand of football is so enjoyable to watch when in full flow. Nothing even comes close. People consider 2009-2010 Barca team as the greatest ever.

Compared that to Messi attitude
- Does not want to run.
- Head drops when team is losing.
- Have not seen him mentor a single young player.

Messi is a child compared to other legends.
I would even argue Ronaldhino did a lot more to Barca than Messi.
Ronaldhino dug us out of the hole. A hole which we were in deeper than what we are now. Remember it took a special Hattrick from Rivaldo to qualify to CL before him.
Messi is a ?win more? player and nothing else.
If things are good for the team he makes it better.
If things are going bad he will make the team look worse.
There are countless examples of this behaviour over the years.
