One of the most shameless interviews ever lol

Messi: "COVID-19 left a lot of scars in my lungs."

Messi: "At PSG I started the league late because I arrived late to the club, then I had a blow to my knee that kept me out of action for a while and between one thing and another I couldn't adapt. I couldn't play three or four games in a row."
Messi:

"The best team don't always win the Champions League."

Messi: "The Champions League? The best team don't always win. Real Madrid were not the best team this season, without taking away any merit because they are the Champions League champions and they are always there."

There's actually nothing shameless in anything he said.

You should up your baiting game because this is getting embarassing

Smh.

Wrong

Bartomeu confirmed they got paid to leave the club nothing more

This is your exact word "So why did he put a clause in his contract that he can leave for free at the end of every single season. Does anyone else here know of any footballer with that clause?"

This is what Bartomeu said ""It's a personal decision for the player, whether he wants to retire or go to play wherever he wishes. It's a clause that other players have had as well, such as Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Carles Puyol, when we last extended their contracts."

Just take the L and move on.

It's just excuses

weren't you spamming at some point on threads that either covid vaccine or covid did football players really bad and that they had bad side effects because of it , but when Messi says that after his covid experience his lungs were affected , you call him shameless for that.

ok dude , lol .

Laporta knows PSG won't sell Messi or any player if they can to Barca while Bayern are more likely to. Only chance for Messi to leave PSG would be at the end of his contract.

The first half of the year to the end of summer mostly decides who wins the Ballon D'or. You should know this.

First half of the year typically decides the ballon d'or because that's when the league titles and biggest cups are won. Messi didn't win a league title or one of the biggest cups (CL and Euros for 2021). He had little impact in the CL knockout stages as well.

His argument for the ballon d'or was based off winning copa america and great domestic form so the fact that he ended up barely contributing anything domestically for half the year is noteworthy.

The moment Messi won the Copa America, he was the favorite to win the Ballon D'or. It is the fact that his performance in the Copa America, the latter half of La Liga and his goals in the CL groups stages with PSG got him the votes he needed that his Ligue 1 form was not considered. Not to mention Messi also broke the South American international goalscoring record of Pele.

Lewy had an unbelievable 20/21 domestic campaign, but he neither had the impact in the CL (not his fault as he was injured) or in the Euros as well and he mostly relied on the Bundesliga goalscoring record.

I wouldn't have minded if Lewy won the Ballon D'or that year, but Messi was fine with that statement as it's his opinion anyway.

His fanboys are raging with anger again.

Trying to deflect by dragging Liverpool into it(who won 2 trophies and competed for all 4 trophies till the last minute).

Seems like it has rubbed onto Messi with this weird childish interviews.

You would have taken the league if you just beat a top 4 team this season, got to sort that out next season.

ok but am I part of the coaching staff? What can I do about this during the season break??

Always find these kind of replies as a coping mechanism for deflecting from the actual topic at hand.

Real won it and they totally deserved it. Now, we move on. Why cry about what can't be changed? It's not like Real/City completely battered us and we need to improve massively. It was a game of very fine margins. Many would argue we did enough from our side...

Back to the topic at hand, the "humble, nice guy" doesn't seem so humble anymore, huh?

All it took was a bit of booing from matchgoing fans to hurt his fragile ego. Played the Forrest Gump PR technique for a long time and it worked on his naive fanbase...
