Just found this recently. What do you think about this argument? Does winning multiple league titles in 4 countries, which are part of the Top 5 Leagues, makes someone a better, more accomplished player?

He didn't win the league in Portugal. You should check out your facts before putting on the pom poms for CR7

It's a stupid argument about Ronaldo being better because Messi has won more La Liga's than Ronaldo during their time together in the league. And Ronaldo did absolutely nothing to help Juventus. Yeah, Ronaldo may have won a Premier League trophy or 2, but he had a class manager and a good team.

Messi is and will always be the better player. To say Messi couldn't do it in the Premier League is just stupid. If players like Vardy are banging in the goals, I'm sure Messi would also. Heck, Messi's record against the top 6 English sides speaks for itself. And he just carried an average Argentina team to the Copa America.

If players like aguero and silva could do it in the premier league of course messi could. He is better than them and even though it's s myth that the premier league is more physical he can take a kick and keep going more than anyone really

In terms of League performances over their careers there's no debate:
10 titles vs 7
8 x league topscorer vs 5
6 x European Golden Shoe vs 4
6 x leading the league in assists vs zero

= 474 goals and 193 assists in 520 games vs 479 goals and 162 assists in 611 games

Messi completely outclassed CR during their prime.

When they faced each other in CL knockouts,Messi has a 2-1 record.

During CR’s 9 year tenure at Madrid,he won La Liga only two times,to Leo’s six.

Leo also has a better head-to-head Classico record, more goals and more assists.

Leo has more Ballon D’Ors, more Golden Boots, more Pichichis.

He also has been a vastly superior creator and dribbler.

After the Copa America victory, the only argument of CR’s fanboys is CL success, which admittedly is a fairly strong argument,as CR has 5 titles as the team’s best player, while Leo only has 3. Surely,CR always had stacked teams, but so did Messi. He also scored a ton of knockout goals, while Leo has been kinda underwhelming at times (eg 15/16 to 17/18).

All in all though, the rivalry was as intense as it can get, especially between 2011 and ~2017.

But it has a clear winner :messi:
