of course Alexis will turn Liverpool down. he's off to Arsenal to win the Emirates cup and enjoy a guaranteed 4th place finish.

Liverpool are still one of the best supported teams around the world and have won the European cup more than any other British team. i don't expect Messi, Neymar, CR7 etc to want to go there but after the season they had and able to offer CL football again i would expect better than who has been signed so far. they could have signed Lambert, Lallana, Can etc without CL. it's just poor scouting/management/decision making rather than Liverpool not being a respected and desirable destination IMO.

i didn't say liverpool couldn't attract good players, but when competing with man utd, arsenal, chelsea, man city along with big clubs abroad for the same players liverpool are likely to miss out. even with united not in the CL next season and liverpool in it players are still likely to choose united ahead of liverpool. liverpool need to do very good scouting to find players not on the radar of other big clubs, but you can also waste money on those types of low profile signings, fabio borini, joe allen, luis alberto, iago aspas, etc. on the other hand talented players who are unwanted at other big clubs are a good avenue for liverpool, they did well getting sturridge and coutinho...

Allen is not a waste of money

Lallana may well have turned us down without CL football as well. He had offers from Spurs and Man Utd at one stage over the past year.

Ben Napoli do want Reina but can't afford his current wages. I reckon a deal will be done as Rodgers wants him out.

Ah fair enough! Whats this about lallana and united though? im 100% certain we have never been in for him.

Do you think Brendan will sign another striker or perhaps look to change the system a bit? It's funny because the perfect player for your system and the moment i would say would be Barkley in my opinion but what is the odds of an everton/liverpool deal going on.

lallana never had any offer from united, we signed mata who is a better player then him. lallana's only other option was tottenham, so i think he would of moved to liverpool without CL. as for joe allen, his career at liverpool has been hit and miss, you could hardly call him a great signing, maybe it was a bit harsh to put him with those others tho. however my overall point is that i don't think one season in the CL after years out of it will make a big difference when it comes to attracting players, liverpool would have to establish themselves in the top 4 over several seasons to be as attractive to players as the other top 4 clubs.

Sucks that Liverpool are losing Suarez, they are back to no CL after next season most likely. unless they replace him properly, but as Spurs showed its not that easy to replace your leader

We've made a bid for markovic [dimarzio] and were looking to conclude the deal this week [barrett]

Fakin DO IT. really r8 him and another one that fits the system.

Properly means no sanchez if it happens

IMO Liverpool should try and sign the following players before the window closes...

Aurier
Moreno
Lovren
Marković
Shaqiri

with all those plus Can, Lallana & Lambert I'd say it would have been a very positive summer transfer window for them.

I dont know if im ok with just ignoring suarez's goal tally and not replacing that with someone who can produce the magic moments every now and then

Am I seeing this wrong or are Liverpool already spending the Suarez cash on so many new players it can only be seen as a world war style rearmaments program?

They're pretty much doing exactly what Spurs did. They'd have been much better off blowing it all on one top player than squad filler.
