I am starting to wonder where we'll be as a team in 2016 if this board actually stays for the entire duration. Two more years of this...
The thing is, if Lucho fails then who will come in? I highly doubt any world class coach wants to be hired by a board who is in the last year of their run, as the new board will surely want to bring their own coach when they come in. In short, we're out of good options, and Lucho is showing every week that he is a bad coach, not even close to being good enough for Barca. He actually said he was pleased with our performance against Getafe and excuse the loss with them being a good side, as if this wasn't a humiliating defeat of epic proportions. So that's where the bar is being set with him, guys...
The problem is that the socios let the current board sit way, way too long. One thing after another that would make other clubs take action has happened, but in Barca these guys still sit in power. Transferban, signing Douglas, forcing out Montoya (or letting an insane coach do so without taking action), signing Vermaelen for substantial sum and the guy might not even play in his first season, signing Mathieu who is not good enough and who could have come for half the price the year before, etc etc. It's just one thing after another, yet Bartomeu keeps smiling in all interviews as if everything is in perfect order, and the socios allow it to continue.
If we become the next Inter Milan, it's these guys' fault. The Gaspart era was saved by an absolute golden generation of La Masia players spearheaded by the best ever in Messi, a new board that for the most part did the right things and who hired good coaches, again spearheaded by one of the best ever in Pep. These lucky coincidences will not happen again, and when the current players retire there is absolutely no guarantee that we'll manage to climb up to a level even resembling a world class club again. The way Barca is being run is just way to unstable. Too much ego and stubborness plague this club.
