The imediate problem is the coach. He is the one picking the players. Also, the board for signing badly in a crucial moment, knowing a ban was incoming. Xavi wouldn't say now to the press he thinks we played badly, that would be the same as throwing Lucho under a bus. And as a captain, he can't do that. It's already a mess, this would only make things worse.
Lucho was the one who convinced Xavi to stay, btw. He was already looking for a place to live on usa. Lucho is the biggest problem. And the idiots in the board too.
I agree and was one of those who was neverly overly impressed by Luchos record at b team, Roma or Celta and argued all that before he was taken over.
Signings I agree on to a point - mainly the midfield I was vocal about thinking it was a huge mistake to sell Cesc, not sign Kroos, sign Rakitic and promote Rafinha. All of that I said last summer.
The thing is with Xavi I genuinely believe he thinks the team played well and they approached game properly. I also think it is the way Iniesta wants to play and its killing the team as those two almost have to play as other midfielders are average at best.
For me it seems that Lucho sees the problems with the old guard but he lacks the tools to change it. His signings were not good enough in midfield in particular which has left him going back to the old players. On top of that Lucho lacks the charisma and leadership to motivate the players to believe in a different style.
