Luis Enrique

We were clearly better than them in that game.

They're different managers. The point is that it is very rare that a coach comes in and everything is fine immediately. Usually there is a period of adjustment (hell, Mourinho lost to us 5-0 on his first try). You need at least a season, usually two.

I wish I could defend you. I thought we should wait before second half of the season before we can judge his performance. But benching Messi and Neymar was purely ego driven, arrogant idea with no rational whatsoever. That tells me he's not strong person , he got emotional on such a crucial game. Don't get me wrong Pep was stuborn too: I still remember him rolling out Cuenca and Tello on cruicial games, but he got the credit and he earned so much credibility that fans forgave him his occasional screw ups.

I can't remember him starting Cuenca and Tello in a big game and it backfiring big time(Although Tello started once in the Clasico and played well, but his finishing was bad unfortunately from what I can remember).

He earned credibility because Pep was something else. He had a plan, a vision for how he wanted Barcelona to be, he was very good tactically and he wasn't an idiot either. I can't remember him screwing up big time at all. He surely got it wrong once in a while, but so does every manager in the world.

That being said he was stubborn too, like with the Zlatan saga where both were wrong, but he wasn't stubborn as in fucking up all the time and then saying 'I'm gonna keep it the way it is, I dont give a shit if its not working'. And neither did he confuse the players with kamikaze rotation and "tactical" changes all the time.

Lucho has had a few things work but then he fails to build on them.

His ego is much too out of control. He doesn't understand how to work with big egos at a club this size like Pep did. Tito was 10x the coach he is.

I agree here. He had interesting ideas that he could develop, but the ego is going to screw up his career. Every leader is ego driven and Lucho is not an exception, but his problem is that he is pushing it blindly.

I'm not trying to say that Pep and Lucho are the same. But Pep was ego driven like any other leader. He had moments of his arrogance with his players(Zlatan perfect example), he sometime was keeping his line up confidential too. But the guy was doing his homework like nobody else.

Yes, and all managers are like that like you said, Lucho is just too much of an idiot though.

On another note;

Joan Gaspart (ex-Barça president) “What's going on at Barça isn't drama. They're normal incidents of a big club.” [onda cero]

Gaspart: “Luis Enrique is a great coach. When we signed Guardiola, we had the same doubts and he was the best.”

Gaspart should frankly speaking STFU and GTFO considering his own history.

And I'm not a bit surprised by these statements.

Lucho has Gaspart going to bat for him now. His days really are numbered.
