Luis Enrique: "Happy with the performance of the team, happy Munir and Sandro could score again, was important for them." #fcblive

Luis Enrique: "Ending game with ten? Could have made an extra sub, but didn't want to take the risk, the players hadn't been warming up."

Luis Enrique: "Messi not in squad? He's in perfect form. Has been playing 30-90-90 minutes since he came back, enough minutes."

Seems like he made system between Pep's and Jupp's Bayern, first team or not. Damn good job today. Everyone rested, everyone happy.

My absolute biggest worry is that we may be peaking too early. Bayern had this problem last year where they clearly looked like the team to win the CL. Fortunately, they couldn't keep up their form for the whole season.

I really hope that's not the case with our team. We could still win Liga and Copa if we peak too early (I would be completely satisfied) but winning the CL is a combination of hitting your peak just at the right time (March-April) and having some (or a lot) of luck. CL is perhaps the hardest competition in all sports. Play one bad game and you for sure will pay for it since you are playing against world class European teams.

I really hope Arda and Vidal come good for us. They will need to step up during those month of February-March-April if we want to win, much like how Suarez stepped up during that time.

and to add to that, I seriously don't understand some of the attitudes of our fans at times. it's as if we invent pessimism out of prosperity. a couple of months ago, around the time leo got injured, some were complaining about the defensive lapses, and the impotent attacking play. now that we have those issues sorted and are firing on all cylinders, we're worried about peaking too early...just relax.

We are not Bayern. We actually have quality opposition teams in the league.

Bayern was just an example he gave .but same thing happened to us in Tito's year .same thing happened with RM last year .peaking too early actually happened to many teams and we need to not relax
Though for now there is no reason to worry ,we should just enjoy the moment

we didn't peak too early with tito..in fact, we only destroyed the small and mid table teams and struggled mightily against any "big" opposition.

yes but it has been known to happen to us. most notably, in Pep's last season and also Tito's season. In both cases we were in superb form in the fall.

also see Madrid last fall vs. last spring.

rotating and hitting the right form in the right part of the season effects all teams that play in the european calendar that fight for domestic and continental trophies. nothing indicates that the competition of the league is the sole factor. in fact, for the longest time it was said that winning the league early made it easier for one to rest up for CL, however now with Bayern's domestic domination and continental failing the last two seasons that theory has been flipped on its side?

No, both ideas are inadeqate and form, fitness and tactics peaking in spring is vital. lucho understands this well perhaps as anyone as his teams peak in the spring as any. However, the big predicament this time around is that we did not have enough players to rotate in the fall as much as we'd like. hopefully, the rotations set in and the staff can figure out an improvised program to peak in the spring.

Why on earth are culés talking about Madrid's form last fall ? That shit is pure Ramos style propaganda! Ancelotti was fielding the best 11 every game till every player got injured one after the other, if we did that now we'd be seing 10-0/1 scores week in week out, and that would be "peaking too early", right now we're just playing very well, like we did many times last season too.
