Xavi I am afraid would fail miserably as a manager.

Yes, he does command respect, as a player. But he is too straight forward and expresses his views too bluntly to not bring in the ego-clashes!

He'll command respect and his status as one of the greatest players of all-time will make all those egos and divas shut up.

It's like in Real Madrid right now. Their players used to taunt Pellegrini, Mourinho and Benitez for not being good footballers themselves, but with Zidane right now they cannot do shit about it since he was a better player than any of them.

With regards to that, Xavi will easily control and avoid any clashes like that and he's a leader.

When it comes to his tactical ability then we'll just have to wait and see, but I think he'll be more flexible than people think. He's played under different coaches with different approaches to the game so hopefully he'll have picked a lot from each and everyone of them.

your description fits guardiola and the lad aint doing bad aint he
Guardiola is more cunning than you give him credit for! The way he got rid of Zlatan, Yaya, Manzukic, etc. or the way he broke his own word that 'he would not be signing any of the players from Barca' speaks for itself.

I don't know man. Not many greats made it big as a manager! Zidane got few things helping him, especially Real facing humiliation after the exit from CDR, etc. Real with him as manager basically had no where else to go but up!!

And about taunting the playing ability of the manager, it only happened because they were spoiled brats is all! I mean the greatest man-manager of them all, Sir Alex Ferguson was not much of a player!!

Can't exactly say Zidane's been a success yet either. They were awful against Roma and in the first game against Wolfsburg. I think they're pretty basic tactically and are benefiting hugely from fitness and a handy draw. Not that he's a failure, but you certainly couldn't call him a success imo, and this year is a free-go at it anyway.

And lol at complaining of top managers out there. We're fine with who we've got. Give him the tools in the summer and we'll be back for the CL next year.

We don't know how good Xavi tactically is ,and probably don't know how his personality will translate as a manager . Those are unknowns

That said ,the one thing that worries me about Xavi is being forced into the job too soon.
Our last 3 most successful coaches were Rijkaard ,Pep & Lucho

Rijkaard was a guy that started as an assistant for Hiddink IIRC then took over the NT and he was gr8 with them but lost unfairly in Euro SF ,had to go through failures with Sparta Rotterdam b4 Cruijff suggesting him for Laporta
Pep was basically retired for year and half ,studying football and meeting managers to learn from ,went to Barca B and then for 1st team .
Lucho spent 4 years after retiring learning & Studying, got 3 years with Barca B ,1 humbling experience with Roma and another good year with Celta b4 joining us .

All had gone the long ways to become our coach .Non was speaken as a sure thing being our future coaches when they were playing here as Xavi

With Xavi I am afraid he might be forced into 1st team coach once retired or with no former experience . once we have a manager vacancy and he is retired he might be considered as the easy choice
Hope he will take the extra mile and take it step by step

I am pretty sure if we lose against Deportivo the league will be gone.

I just don't see a way back for this team which means Lucho will walk.

Pochettino has done a very good job for spurs and would be interesting as manager.

Really hoping we don't get rid off Lucho. We're still about to claim a double, for me even the league would be enough...
I don't get this attitude of "UCL every year or death" that some Barça fans are going for. Rather take longevity, attractive football (that we've been lately lacking), a good enough squad (also lacking) for rotations and the CHANCE to challenge each competition we're in. League title, UCL semis and Copa final should be our goals nothing more. Sure this is the greatest team but it's still the greatest team in football, not bloody Fifa98. Meaning there's always bad luck and surprises that play a role..

Unless Barca wins the Liga, Copa Del Rey, Supercopa, Joan Gamper trophy, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, World Cup, Euro, Copa Libertadores, Copa America, Olympics, Audi cup, Emirates cup, ICC, Olympics, Copa Catalunya and the Bartomeu cup in a single season we're not happy :coffee:

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
For me it weighs heavily the way the team went to the bottom.
It's not these last 2 weeks, neymar and suarez have being in a slump for months now, in these last 2 weeks the glass just broke but it wasn't sudden, it was a long and sad process to get there and lucho did nothing.

I watched press conference clip... took a good look at his eyes... eyes of nervous, scared, deeply troubled, deeply worried man that feels things slipping out of his hands...

Just heard the Emirates Cup has been cancelled. Fucking sucks.
