Jeez.
People just want this team not to get penetrated by the likes of Alaves. No one is demanding we play and dominate like Dream Team Barca or Prime Pep Barca.
You're overreacting. People here praised Madrid, and Madrid won a lot, really a lot of games undeservedly. The Alaves game was an accident, much like the Malaga and Deportivo, and Celta and Hercules, and really several other games in which we were not mentally in the game. It happens. Roll with it.

When accidents happen that frequently, they cease to be accidents, but are, instead, a mark of incompetence.
Noted. Pep was incompetent in his last season then.
I don't think I am, and I don't know about those people, but I've never praised Madrid for 'lucking' out wins.
You can have an accident, and then another one.....and then one more due to the squad being unfocused or simply bad luck or execution. No problem. We had those even at our dominant best, but to play badly for a long time is not an accident. It's a chain collision that keeps dragging one car after another in it.
Whose job is it to prepare the players to be mentally in it?
Mental exhaustion from winning almost everything in the last two seasons can cause the players to lose a bit of focus and a bit of motivation. Why do you think Pep's Barcelona went from the best ever in 2010-11, the 2nd best in Spain in several months? Level of play drops with time, because it becomes increasingly harder to motivate the players and to keep them as hungry as before.
You are right there. But then, this just supports the idea that Lucho should leave in the summer, no?
Similar characteristics? Like Oliver Torres, the new Xavi we need to sign? Or Aleix Vidal, the new Alves. Or Montoya, who was (good god, that looks funny now) 'better than Alves'? The man who's ankle was broken by Sergio Canales?
What happened during Pep made us, as fans, predisposed to overrating players simply by looking at their style, outside of their quality. We see someone who reminds us a bit of Xavi, and think he is the next Xavi, without looking at anything else but style. And, the same, we trash players who can be of good use, because their qualities are different.
Jeez.

This squad should be more than good enough for that.
