Luis Suárez

That was just awful from Suarez.. I get it he is out of form since he is just back...But considering his form last season, he should have been back early and putting the work in instead. Now we have a player who kills just about every attack which comes his way and a coach who rewards him for every bad performance by playing him non stop. Hell, Paco might do better than this version of Suarez.

We'll struggle this season unless he improves. Went for Griezmann which was a smart move, but what now?

Considering how the board allegedly bought Malcom behind EV's back, so to speak, surely they can do it again - if EV doesn't see what most of the world sees about Suarez's decline - and replace him adequately soon. Very soon...

There is a reason why we tried to get Griezmann, but since we didn't get him and there is no alternative in the market we will have to rely on Suarez.
He is still a guy who can get us 20 goals in league which we don't have anyone to replace unless Dembele and Coutinho starts to score more

As a devout Luis fan, it's getting rough watching him play these days. And judging by his reactions after every stray pass, he knows it too.

It was telling though, that not only was he the only player to start the game who had only been back for a week; he played the entire match. He has too much clout in the dressing room but maybe Luis needs to listen to this guy:

Mascherano stepped aside graciously - he recognised when he couldn't contribute to the team anymore and left.

Suarez needs to at least start resting this season. One game a week, instead of 2 or 3 would go a long way.

I really can't stand him. Been a long time since I actually hated a Barca player. Not only he is completely terrible as a forward of Barca's calibre, his shitty body language, walking instead of pressing and constant yelling at teammates just trigger me every time.

That is how I feel. It is not just about his performance. I will benech him and make him lose some weight. He is not getting any younger, which means that he has to work on his body.

He is extremely heavy. There is so much to work on, but I would just let him take his time to recover properly. I would not start him more than 10 games this year, we need him in 2019. Let him take the start of the season as a preparation period.

Right now it's not even his goal output that worries me, but more how disruptive he is for our general attacking play.

Sure, the market is rough in regards to 9's, but seeing how rapid his decline has been, there has to be candidates out there who could slot in adequately.

Perhaps these thoughts are premature, and he will get better once he hits his stride, but we saw last night's Suarez plenty times last season already. He was always a player who would rely on raw feeling and instinct, and now that he's declining, he's starting to overthink his actions which leads to fuck-up upon fuck-up. And I'm not sure this can be rectified.

every time i see him getting a pass in a box and has a really good chance to score but he jumps over the ball with no one behind him, or someone who is unable to receive said ball , makes me want to fist myself with both hands.

no lube.

In my honest opinion, we have to move away from MSN, those days are over. I remember Suarez during 14/15 was linking with Messi and Neymar so well; many of the goals were a result of these linkup plays.

Now Suarez is a complete blackhole upfront, Messi is older, slower and we cannot afford to make way for someone like Suarez. I really doubt we can attack effectively in top level and would have to rely on loose balls and set pieces which is not a concrete gameplan tbh.

And Valverde was basically trying to recreate MSN with playing Dembele on the left yesterday and Messi RW. We took a big leap back tactically + it showed how much that kind of system relies on Suarez as a main scoring threat. Moving Leo further away from goal is just stupid.

Suarez will shoot from a distance even when being one vs one because he knows he's lost so much pace.

We cant go on like this. He's 31 and has been in decline for a long time now. Its blatantly obvious. A great opportunity to do something was last summer with Mbappe, now the market sucks for a lot of positions, but Suarez up front for this season and even beyond is just unacceptable.

He has been disruptive for a whole year now, but is saved by his ability to score.
If he continues to be able to score he will stay as a starter

so true! this is why i dont understand the people who said that we were much better the second half.. imo we played much better in the first half, creating much more chances with messi being way more dangerous and involved in our play. with all the flaws i thought our game was more exciting to watch in the first half.

with rafinha and arthur off it was the same lazy, boring and static sh** like last year..

Dont be stupid. He is fit.

His game was dropped but he´s not fact.

Before calling someone stupid try to google his pictures from Lpool and you’ll clearly see there is significant difference in his weight. It’s visible from the moon!
