Henry is my favourite player but that doesnt do Suarez justice.
Suarez is arguably the third best player in the Messi/Ronaldo era, only other player to score 40+ Goals in la liga, arguably best barca striker bar Messi, had the best ever pl season with 31 goals without penalties, has been better in la liga than Ronaldo, won a copa america for Uruguay and will end up with 500+ goals. The guy is a genius, not clean cut like Messi but in an insane chaotic kind of way.
For a period of about three or four years at Liverpool/Barcelona he looked a cut above anyone else in the Premiership/La Liga outside of Messi/Ronaldo.

Henry was a different beast though. I reckon if he were playing in the Real Madrid or Barcelona sides of the past decade in his prime he'd be smashing goal records left right and centre. He wasn't as great as Messi (no one is), but in the last 20-30 years he's in the top 10, possibly even top 5 for me. I was re-watching some of his goals between 2001 and 2006 the other day, he was a genius, 03/04 he was better than anything Suarez produced.

1. Prime Suarez never played for Barcelona. He played for Liverpool.
2. Eto couldn't score the goals that Suarez scored playing for Liverpool even in his dreams.

CL KO games require a certain killing instinct more so than overall play. Eto'o was absolutely lethal in several big games versus top opposition. United 08/09, Henry's Arsenal, Mou's Chelsea, CL winning milan etc etc.

Suarez's overall level in 13-14 was above anything Eto'o ever produced and arguably 3rd best of the last 10 years after Messi and CR7. I'm not disputing that. Just saying Suarez hasn't shown the same killing instinct in CL in last 2-3 years.

ALSO,

last time suarez was performing this well in terms of goal output (15/16), there were lunatics here saying he was above R9 as a striker. Take it easy on being a prisoner of the moment, folks (not just you).

Rubbish, Eto'o played in the 2 best playing teams Barcelona has ever had, He was completely invisible in 1/8 against Chelsea in 05 on stamford bridge. His useless finishing against AC Milan in 06 on Camp Nou was especially atrocious, luckily for him AC Milan was even worse in front of the goal that day, hard to belive really.

Against United on Camp Nou in 08 he was one of the worst players on the pitch, in fact he was subbed for 17 years old Bojan Kirkic, that is how shitty he was.

The game against Chelsea in 09 on Camp Nou, again he was invisible and should have been subbed, one of the worst players on the pitch.

Eto'o is so underrated in general. Suarez is a one of the best strikers ever but so is Eto'o. No matter who you prefer, disrespecting Eto'o is plain stupid. Me personally I prefer Samuel because he more versatile than Luisito and more consistent over the course of a game. Better technique, clean passing etc.
On their day both are unplayable.

Prime Eto'o is at least as valuable as Prime Suarez and he is better in my opinion. Some of the worst posts I have ever seen in the past few comments makes you think if people were even Barca fans and actually watched Eto's career. Not only with us, but with Mallorca too. The guy pressed and defended more than so called defenders and passed the ball better than midfielders. Excelled both as a pure 9, right defensive winger (Pep second half of season and with Mourinho) and excelled as a left winger tallying 37 goals with one season under Mancini and equalling fat Ronaldos record.

On international level, Eto'o is the all-time top scorer in Africa Cup of Nations.

i've seen both, no one has pressed /harrased defenders more than prime suarez
and factually suarez is scoring more goals as-well

both are amazing players but my money goes on suarez.. who could still do so much more as-well

Eto' at his best was just like Suarez, the best striker in the game. There's almost nothing separating them but selling Eto'o was one of the worst managerial moves ever.

Jup Eto'o was a really good player. Never understand why we got rid of him (because of pep) and bought Ibra.

Pep saw Zlatan as a complete striker the missing piece of the puzzle.

Pep did not like Eto's outspoken personality and wanted to sell him in his first season but Et'o let his performance on the pitch do the talking but Pep sold him anyway in a very unfavorable swap deal for us.

Pep got rid of Eto'o because Eto'o - by his own account - didn't give a shit about the instructions Pep gave him. Eto'o proudly proclaimed in an interview some time ago, that he told Pep not to tell him what to do and where to go because Pep wasn't a striker in his career. Not only is it disrespectful to your actual boss, but it also entirely defeats the purpose of having a coach in the first place. Especially a coach with as intricate a system as Pep. Pep will make you the best team in the world if everyone does as they're told, but if one player steps out of line, the entire system very easily falls flat. That was why Eto'o was sold, and that was the reason for Zlatan's demise in early 2010. I'm sure Pep would warmly and wholeheartedly welcome any constructive criticisms and new ideas, but doing what Eto'o did - once again, by his own account - is just unbelievably stupid and immature.

can't seperate them honestly. i do wonder how well Suarez would of done in that Pep team with a prime Xaviesta but Eto'o was so damn good. i remember that goal vs United in the CL final :worthy:
