Malcom

Can't expect anything from him, hasn't played for half a year, and the expectations are to score a goal or at least make opponents look stupid if he wants to impress anyone.

He had played a total of 25 minutes before today. Can't expect him to be sharp in match situations with that kind of playing time two months into the season.

Valverde saw people complaining about playing Malcom at LW so he decided to just stop playing him altogether :valverde:

Seeing this thread..seriously ..you would think EV put Messi on the bench unfairly. :D

Well isnt it quite possible EV saw nothing in him that can positively contribute for us ..and probably he is being proven right here considering his performance against a second division team??.. I mean come on..Barca is no Arsenal to be handed unlimited opportunities to prove yourself especially when it comes to being a forward..

EV didn't want him, period. the board went under EV's long nose and bought Malcom anyway. great time with the memes and Romas twitter but a bad move from Malcoms career from a personal point.

cant blame him playing like he did tbh even if it is vs a 3rd div team, hes been frozen out not even making sub appearances so theres no match rhythm there.

Interesting...But what does he see in Denis for example?. A guy who offers absolutely nothing regardless of whether he can play in multiple positions or not. And i'd dare say he shouldn't even be ahead of Aleña in the pecking order.

A couple things are evident in this situation. Malcolm came in because the board/sporting department made an 'executive' decision, based on his obvious talent. But, Ernie clearly didn't want him, didn't request him and clearly isn't going to play him much either, probably because he isn't a good fit in his midfield heavy system. The only chance for him is the odd game here or there in the Copa del rey. Sad but it's true. Abidal and whoever else in the scouting department needs to be careful when buying players while Ernie is around. He is a 'particular' type of coach. You have to buy players that can fit in his system. There's not too much tactical variety or out of the box stuff with him. We are going to play one particular way with the odd change in setup here and there. The Malcolm's, Dembele's, Sane's, Sterling's, those winger type players, we should avoid buying for now.

Yeah because Malcom is totally a striker and not a winger lmao. Some people on here making mental gymnastics.

Not sure where the love for him is coming from lol he could be another Mina so would be a waste of time and could cost us If we play him

Another Mina it is. What an awful performance

I thought he was p. good, especially in first half. Good fast linkup play impressed me the most. Then he made that awful pass and it went downhill. Still i wouldn't judge him harsh given it's his first match of the season in completely makeshift lineup against surprisingly good opposition.

Players like Malcolm made them look good. They're a pub side dont start defending that awful performance

As i said, in the first half he was good. In the second half not. Dembele wasn't better and Munir was even worse than them both so i don't see what this has to do with 'pub side'.
