True that. EV just never struck me as the overly confrontational and vindictive type. I would have expected the board to lean on him a bit to make sure he'd at least give their new shiny toy a fair chance.

In a way it makes sense.. There is one forward position up for grabs and that too mainly as a sub. would you prefer playing Malcolm or Dembele? Probably EV doesn't seem much in him during training to keep him as a sub over Dembele..

The rumours of Willian arriving and Valverde interested in him were very substantial. Barca refuse to pay a shitton of money for him and get him Malcom instead. Malcom gets ignored, I wonder why......

-Valverde complimenting Willian after the Chlesea tie
-Then we got very substantial rumours of Valverde/Barca wanting Willian , heck we even got Willian saying that Barcelona made a bid (http://www.espn.co.uk/football/socc...na-made-bid-but-future-is-with-maurizio-sarri) So there was clear interest in a extra winger from Valverde.
-Barcelona were put off by the high price Chelsea were demanding and got Malcom instead and now we are seeing how it unfolds
But hey , it's cleary just a 'retarded' theory.

Whatever the case is, Malcom is better than what we had on the bench last year, so we should be careful about writing him off and crushing his confidence so early in the season, when we could need him very soon. Same thing happened to Nelsinho but under different circumstances.
