Messi limited to play exclusively in the final third, or final quarter of the pitch if you like, scoring tap in after tap in
Tap-in-essi

in his new role which can keep him playing till when he is 40

Those are great stats indeed, but be careful with comparisons, not only Mbappe played less minutes but he also played in a position where he is less presdisposed to score where Malcom not. Malcom is left footed and played on the right, Mbappe played on the same position but is right footed. At least most of the games. (Can someone that follows the french league closely tell me if i'm wrong about Mbappe or if in the absense of Neymar he played on the left?)

Still, the stats are indeed very good. There is potential there to be worked.

Anyway, we could also argue that PSG is a better team, where it's easier to assist and score more goals

Oh come on now, you just had to take the one fail among countless great ones that they made in the last few years, didn't you? And even this is not yet a done deal, Sanches has now returned to Munich and could play a much bigger role under Kovac. He actually scored a beautiful free kick against PSG just a couple of days ago.

Benatia? Just sold Douglas Costa for 40m. Paid 35m for Gotze and turned him to shit. Let Hummels go for peanuts then paid big money to get him back. Sold Kroos for 20m. Sanchez for 35m.

They make a decent number of poor decisions as well.

Let's say:
Coutinho-Diego Costa/any true, taller, stronger Cf-Messi (this is to get an attack who can score after shortpasses, throughballs and CROSSES)
I would pick one out of Willian/Dembele/Malcom as a sub in the 70th minute.

** I don't understand these Dembele-Malcom winger ideas without a Cf in the box.
Plus, we play a slow possession football where pacey wingers don't have too much room.
Also, Malcom and Dembele like to cross.
To whom?
To Messi as a Cdm, or to Coutinho as the 2nd most attacking player after Messi?

Liverpool is the only big team without a true, tall Cf.
And City with Jesus, but that is Pep's team, so it is not worth to comment it too much.

I didn't think too much about midfield, since we are locked with Busi for years.
And then we need a workhorse like Raki as long as we have Busi.
imo, we can't play with two light Cms and Busi in a CL.

But let's not go offtopic now.

Messi is the problem but at the same time hes not.. if that makes sense.

Messi at ST doesn't possess an aerial threat and he drops deep leaving our wingers with nothing to hit inside the box, we also don't have a goalscoring winger type to allow him to play the false 9. we can't exactly bench/sell the GOAT, that would be suicide and ridiculous but at the same time we can't play him at RW anymore because of his lack of running.. so where do we play him?

I remember many saying as he got older he could take the midfield role but that would be a huge waste of his goal scoring ability and again, he doesn't run enough to get away with being a midfielder (+ we bought Coutinho)

imho it would be best to go Malcom-Messi-Dembele while theres a lack of world class #9s out there

If Messi actually moved in attack more and put in a effort defensively a lot of problems would be solved.

It wasn't really meant to be taken too seriously, but people do have a tendency to overrate Bayern's transfer provess, as I see it. Just like people have a tendency to underrate our own with the usual omg, we ONLY SIGN 30+ YEAR OLD SHITFUCKERS drivel.

Hopefully this one - if it ends up happening - turns out more of a Ribery, Robben signing than a Sanches, Benatia, Götze one.

There is no way Messi is going back to the RW.

Diego Costa (who just signed for Atletico) or various donkeys up front (there just isnt any available good striker out there) is not going to happen.

This is a much better deal if true but I have my doubts

Is Valverde going to play wingers in 4-4-2? He didn't even have room for Dembele yet so not sure if we have any plan here by buying Willian or Malcolm. I would think WC MF is a priority since it was our weakest spot, we will get overrun again like we had before in UCL.
