I prefer Malcom to Willian. a million times but what does this mean for Dembele? Will he move to be a LW?

Negotiations will resume in the morning. Remains to be seen whether the Girondins will hold their commitment to Roma that could increase its offer for Malcom. Barca more than ever on the lookout. Regarding Malcom himself, he's very supportive of the idea of joining Barcelona according to close sources.

We need two speedy wingers. Going to take a lot to bench Suarez but I would like to see a lineup with Messi as a false 9 with Dembele and Malcom/Willian. I also think Dembele and Coutinho could form some partnership on the left.

Granted, I haven't seen much of him other than compilations, but according to ScoutNation and whoscored.com Malcom's preferred position is as RW/RM, both he can also play on LW; since Dembélé is our only out-and-out winger in the team, this signing makes sense in every possible way. Dembouz is two-footed, no? He played well for France NT in the run-up for the WC as a LW and has played there before in both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga with success; giving us another winger, who isn't 30 y/o Willian for 80 mil euros, but one who is 21, regarded as a huge prospect, brazilian (we are apparently building a France/Brazil hybrid team) and is described as a Douglas Costa with brains all over the internet + he was a pubes-hair's length away from going to Monchi's Roma of all clubs .... What's not to love about this signing?!

He managed to score 12 goals and assisting 7 in around 2800 minutes; Mbappé who is regarded as a combination of Pelé and Maradona by some gullible fans after the WC, had 1 goal more and same amount of assists at roughly 2100 minutes - Malcom managed almost identical stats to a kid prodigy who everyone is applauding (for obvious reasons, sure) and he did so for a far inferior side; Malcom got 8 MOTM to Mbappé's 7. Malcom has more key passes pr. game and almost the same amount of succesful dribles pr. game (2.6 to 2.9) as Mbappé.

This signing is clever business. Willian was our usual dumbass business.

I know nothing more will happen tonight, but I'm scared if I go to sleep, I'll wake up in the morning to news about Malcom going to Roma after all and us having accepted an offer of around 60m for Willian. Rough times...

It's the type of business Bayern would make (and they were actually interested in Malcom a couple of months ago). And that can only be a compliment.

If the player prefers Barca then it's already pretty much done.

I totally get that. Gonna binge watch some Suits for now and hope for some random fake indian/nigerian twitter post claiming it's done, so I can fall asleep and hopefully be pleasantly surprised by our boards doings for once when I wake up tomorrow.

So you mean we're signing Malcom way too expensively just to play him sporadically for a season and then loan him to Swansea where he'll be the laughing stock of the EPL?

BBZ, what's your dream lineup? Based on players we have and those available on the market.

Let's say:
Coutinho-Diego Costa/any true, taller, stronger Cf-Messi (this is to get an attack who can score after shortpasses, throughballs and CROSSES)
I would pick one out of Willian/Dembele/Malcom as a sub in the 70th minute.

** I don't understand these Dembele-Malcom winger ideas without a Cf in the box.
Plus, we play a slow possession football where pacey wingers don't have too much room.
Also, Malcom and Dembele like to cross.
To whom?
To Messi as a Cdm, or to Coutinho as the 2nd most attacking player after Messi?

Liverpool is the only big team without a true, tall Cf.
And City with Jesus, but that is Pep's team, so it is not worth to comment it too much.

I didn't think too much about midfield, since we are locked with Busi for years.
And then we need a workhorse like Raki as long as we have Busi.
imo, we can't play with two light Cms and Busi in a CL.

But let's not go offtopic now.

Yes, we all know every transfer Bayern ever pulled off went to Swansea on loan - also known as the Bayern formula.

Oh come on now, you just had to take the one fail among countless great ones that they made in the last few years, didn't you? And even this is not a done deal yet, Sanches has already returned to Munich and could play a much bigger role under Kovac this season. He actually scored a beautiful free kick against PSG just a couple of days ago too.

Man City dont have a tall CF.

Benzema is not all that tall.

Nah, first needs to carry some Ronaldo-like prick to an international trophy. He's from Brazil so quite possible.
