It does seem ludicrous, IMO, how the best team in the world, again IMO, seems to be blinkered where the defence is concerned.
It has been proven time and again that we are weak when it comes to defending free kicks and corners and are vulnerable to a forward line of tall players, when crosses are put into the box.
The spine of the team is very important, and when we have 2 CBs - one of which seems to have lost all focus, the other is aging and will not play as often - and no recognised back-ups, nor players pushing for starting positions.
Using DMs as CBs is not the answer, especially when the main DM/CB convert is quite short.
Neither do we seem to be willing to give the likes of Bartra/Montoya the necessary minutes on the pitch to give them the experience needed for them to become 1st team players.
Something has to be done.
